The purpose of the Transportation Department is to provide safe, efficient, and reliable transportation services for students across the District. The Director provides districtwide leadership for student transportation operations, including routing and scheduling, transportation safety, fleet management, driver and staff supervision, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations. This position develops and oversees transportation procedures, monitors service delivery, supports the recruitment and training of transportation staff, and works collaboratively with schools, families, District departments, and community partners to address transportation needs and concerns. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Education:
Equivalent to a master's degree from an accredited college or university in education, educational leadership/administration, public administration, criminal justice, emergency management, or a closely related field.
Experience:
Five years of progressively responsible experience in education, school operations, transportation, or a related public agency setting, including at least three years in a leadership or administrative role (such as principal, district administrator, coordinator, or equivalent). Site leadership experience is preferred.
Pre-employment Clearances/Requirements:
Valid Driver's License TB Test Clearance Fingerprint clearance
