Position:
USPS Delivery Driver Job Summary:
We are seeking dependable, customer-focused Delivery Drivers to safely and efficiently transport and deliver USPS mail to residential and commercial customers. The ideal candidates are expected to have strong time management skills, a clean driving record, excellent customer service, and the ability to work independently while representing the company in a professional manner at all times. This is an independent contractor (1099) position with the opportunity for a dedicated route and on-demand route with NO Benefits including Workers Compensation. 4 Wheel or All wheel SUV's, minivans, or cars preferred! Key Responsibilities Pick up, transport, and deliver USPS mail according to assigned routes and schedules Load and unload mail safely and accurately to prevent damage. Verify package information before delivery. Complete assigned delivery routes efficiently and on time Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations and company policies Provide professional and courteous customer service at all times Inspect and maintain delivery vehicle cleanliness and basic operational condition Demonstrate professionalism at all times Maintain accurate route planning tools Maintain customer and company confidentiality at all times Communicate with dispatch regarding any delays, route changes, or delivery issues. Driver Qualifications Previous USPS delivery, courier, or driving experience preferred Be willing to convert vehicle to right hand drive for better route efficiency Valid driver's license with proof of insurance Clean driving record (MVR) Ability to pass a background check Reliable clean insured vehicle appropriate for deliveries Smartphone with reliable data service Excellent time management and organizational skills Strong communication skills Ability to work independently and meet delivery deadlines Dependable, punctual with good attendance Be able to speak, write and understand English Physical Requirements Drivers Must be able to: Lift and carry packages up to 50-75 pounds Bend, kneel, squat, and reach frequently Enter and exit vehicles repeatedly throughout the day Walk up and down stairs if needed Drive, Stand and walk for extended periods Work outdoors in various weather conditions Work may include exposure to: Heat, Cold, Snow, Rain, Heavy Traffic or Construction Zone Work Environments Residential neighborhoods Apartment communities Commercial businesses Post Office warehouses If you are motivated by delivering excellence on every route, possess the necessary driving skills, and enjoy working independently while providing outstanding service, we want to hear from you!
