Overview we are 1099 We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Fleet Manager to oversee the efficient operation and management of our vehicle fleet. This role is vital in ensuring smooth transportation logistics, compliance with regulations, and optimal vehicle utilization. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for transportation management. Duties Minimum 2-3 years of fleet management experience in the trucking industry. Manage drivers, trucks, trailers, maintenance, breakdowns, and preventive maintenance. Maintain relationships with truck dealers, service centers, and repair vendors and negotiate pricing when needed. Understand truck depreciation and equipment lifecycle and help determine when trucks should be kept, replaced, or sold. Assist with truck purchases, trade-ins, and sales and evaluate available dealer/manufacturer programs. Monitor MPG and fuel efficiency by truck and driver and identify opportunities to reduce fuel costs. Understand and calculate truck operating cost per mile / RPM cost to evaluate profitability. Track maintenance costs and identify trucks that are becoming too expensive or unreliable to operate. Develop a strategy for underperforming trucks — repair, reassign, reposition, trade, sell, or replace the equipment when appropriate. Monitor

compliance, and overall driver/equipment performance. Work closely with dispatch, safety, accounting, and management. Provide management with recommendations based on maintenance cost, MPG, utilization, depreciation, and overall truck profitability. Preferred Experience managing 50+ trucks, strong knowledge of SEMI truck equipment and dealer networks, and experience with Samsara or similar fleet-management systems.
