Roll-Off Driver Manager WG Waste is a locally family-owned and operated waste and recycling company. We are looking for an experienced, dependable, and hands-on Roll-Off Driver Manager to oversee our roll-off drivers, dispatch operations, fleet, and day-to-day transportation activities. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience managing roll-off drivers , a clean driving record, strong leadership skills, and the ability to coach and train drivers while maintaining high standards for safety, productivity, and customer service.
Position Details Full-Time Position Pay:
$28-$30 per hour Health, Dental & Vision Benefits Occasional Saturdays required based on business and operational needs Hands-on position — must be willing and able to drive a roll-off truck as needed Minimum 5 years of experience managing roll-off drivers required Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate daily dispatching activities for roll-off trucks, ensuring timely pickups and drop-offs. Lead and manage a team of roll-off drivers while maintaining high standards for safety, productivity, professionalism, and customer service. Coach, train, and mentor drivers on safe driving practices, company policies, customer service, equipment operation, and proper work procedures. Provide ongoing feedback and guidance to drivers and address performance issues in a professional and constructive manner. Assist with the training and onboarding of new drivers. Drive and operate a roll-off truck as needed to support daily operations, cover driver shortages, assist with training, or handle other operational needs. Coordinate vehicle scheduling and routing using
GPS, GIS
mapping, TMS, and vehicle dispatch software. Monitor driver schedules, attendance, performance, and hours of service. Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, company safety policies, and applicable transportation requirements. Schedule and monitor vehicle maintenance, inspections, and repairs. Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, internal teams, vendors, and outside partners. Respond promptly to driver questions, customer requests, scheduling changes, and emergency situations. Maintain accurate driver logs, shipment records, incident reports, maintenance records, and compliance documentation. Monitor fleet and route performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs. Build and maintain strong customer relationships through professional and responsive service. Assist with recruiting, hiring, onboarding, coaching, and ongoing development of roll-off drivers. Maintain a positive, accountable, and safety-focused team environment. Qualifications & Skills Minimum 5 years of experience managing roll-off drivers is required. Clean driving record required. Valid driver's license required. Experience operating a roll-off truck strongly preferred. Must be willing and able to drive a roll-off truck as part of the position . Proven ability to coach, train, mentor, and develop drivers . Strong leadership and team-management skills. Strong knowledge of roll-off waste transportation, dispatching, logistics, and fleet operations. Knowledge of DOT regulations, driver safety requirements, and hours-of-service requirements. Experience with
GPS, GIS
mapping, TMS, and vehicle dispatch software. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Experience with shipping and receiving, supply chain operations, or 3PL coordination is a plus. Experience with Oracle Transportation Management, SyteLine, or similar systems is a plus. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer/data-entry systems. Strong commitment to safety, reliability, accountability, and customer service. Must be available to work occasional Saturdays when needed.
