Warehouse Area Supervisor assists the Area Manager in leading a team of warehouse associates, ensuring that all product is correctly and efficiently stocked, rotated, available and received to complete customers' orders timely. Area Supervisor will help train new associates on the requirements of the job including but not limited to: inventory control, product knowledge, product rotation, proper picking, Company policies and procedures, and using the Company's computer systems. The successful Area Supervisor is self-motivated, communicative and thrives in work environments requiring collaboration, team work and interpersonal skills, as well as managing conflict. Qualifications Must be 21 years or older Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree from an accredited college or university; or High School Diploma or GED plus three (3) or more years related experience in transportation, delivery, or logistics Prior experience in and an understanding of Warehouse and Warehouse operations Able to learn and maintain knowledge of the Company and products Working knowledge of computerized hand-held devices Must be flexible to work additional hours when needed
Responsibilities:
Supervising a team of warehouse associates overseeing proper product inventory, staging, rotation, breakdown, replenishment, returns, order fulfillment and quality control. Work with team as necessary to meet nightly goals Train, develop, evaluate and motivate team to foster the success of individual contributors and overall team success Define expectations and monitor progress Analyze needs; assign work and projects, as needed Maintain productivity; ensure volume, goals and new programs are met Investigate problems and set a course to correct issues Responsible for supervising team, ensuring safe performance of duties Facilitate all team meetings at the request of the Area Manager Forecast staffing needs Additional duties may apply depending on area of responsibility in logistics Perform other duties as assigned including filling in for associates when needed Competencies Effective Judgment Plan & Execute Relationship Development Conflict Resolution Communication Handles Stress Managing multiple priorities Problem Solving/ Solution-Oriented Critical Thinking Collaboration Flexibility/ Multi-tasking Critical Skills Must have strong leadership, motivation and persuasive communication skills Ability to exercise independent judgment to handle a variety of duties; prioritize Excellent communication skills (verbal & written) Efficient time management skills Strong computer knowledge and skills Excellent analytical and problem solving skills Attention to detail Patience, flexibility and ability to adapt to complicated and stressful situations Working Conditions Able to maintain very high proficiency and job standards while working in a non-temperature controlled environment that includes exposure to heat, high humidity, and inclement weather Able to work occasionally in refrigerated areas Able to work in an environment with moderate to loud noise levels and some dust and fumes from power equipment Physical Requirements and Essential Functions Regular, reliable attendance required Able to frequently operate a pallet jack and/or forklift Able to stand and walk for extended periods of time, lift and carry, push and pull, bend and stoop, reach with arms and hands, and use hands and fingers to handle or feel Able to grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination Able to stack, unstack and relocate large amounts of product throughout the work period Able to perform repeated lifting up to 50-65 lbs, with some overhead lifting required Must have specific vision abilities that include close vision, distance vision and the ability to judge distanceAttention Applicants:
