We are seeking a dedicated, organized, and compliance‑driven Director to lead daily operations at one of our MKC locations. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in leadership, enjoys building strong relationships with families and staff, and can maintain a high standard of professionalism and accountability. Position Summary The Director oversees all daily operations of an MKC site, ensuring full compliance with DCFS licensing standards, and MKC brand expectations. This role includes staff supervision, parent communication, community outreach, safety oversight, food service management, site-level administration to including scheduling, performance management, and file management. Responsibilities Ensure full compliance with DCFS licensing, CACFP meal service rules, and MKC policies Maintain accurate attendance, incident reports, food service logs, and safety documentation Lead daily programming, transitions, and behavior management Supervise and coach Assistant Directors, Group Leaders, and Program Aides Support hiring, onboarding, and ongoing staff training Serve as the primary point of contact for families Communicate program updates, incidents, and concerns professionally Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment Oversee daily cleaning routines and ensure equipment is in good working order Protect MKC's brand by ensuring consistent operating hours and reliable service Maintain driver eligibility and participate in transportation safety training Assist with child transportation needs as assigned Maintain a valid driver's license and clean driving record that meets Metro Kids Club's driver eligibility standards. (A clean driving record is defined according to MKC's insurance carrier requirements.) Participate in required transportation safety training Assist with child transportation needs as assigned, including learning MKC transportation protocols Demonstrate safe, reliable driving practices at all times Qualifications Meets Illinois DCFS Director qualifications for licensed school-age programs Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM) or ability to obtain certification Minimum 2 years supervisory experience in childcare, recreation, education, or hospitality Valid driver's license and clean driving record Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills Ability to work evenings, school breaks, and weekends Must pass all background checks and meet DCFS health and safety requirements Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Lift and move items up to 40 pounds Bend, stoop, kneel, and reach as needed Perform cleaning tasks and respond quickly to emergencies
