Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated On-Site Manager to oversee our 24-hour, 5-6 day a week operation. The manager will work Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm, with on-call responsibilities if the customer is operational. This role requires a hands-on approach managing a fleet of 23 tractors and drivers, and 100 trailers.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily operations to ensure efficiency and compliance with company policies and procedures. Manage and coordinate schedules for drivers and equipment. Maintain strong relationships with the customer, acting as the primary point of contact for any operational issues or concerns. Monitor and manage the performance of drivers, providing guidance and support as needed. Conduct minor equipment troubleshooting to help reduce maintenance expenses. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies. Prepare and analyze operational reports to identify areas for improvement. Coordinate with maintenance staff to ensure all vehicles are in optimal working condition. Handle any emergency situations that may arise, including after hours.
Requirements:
Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is preferred. Previous experience in the transportation or logistics industry, particularly in management or supervisory roles. Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safety standards. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to perform minor equipment troubleshooting and maintenance. Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
