Full Job Description Terminal Supervisor Location:
Kansas City, Kansas Calhoun Truck Lines is seeking a Terminal Supervisor to join our team. This role is responsible for overseeing terminal operations, driver management, safety compliance, and customer relations to ensure efficiency, profitability, and adherence to company policies. Intermodal drayage experience is a plus, as this position requires knowledge of rail yards, steamship lines, chassis pools, and compliance regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations & Driver Management:
Ensure compliance with safety practices, delivery procedures, and industry regulations. Oversee dispatch operations, utilizing dispatch software for scheduling and updates. Maintain strong driver relationships, providing support for both routine and emergency situations. Communicate effectively with driver support and customer service teams to ensure operational efficiency. Manage appointment scheduling, delivery notifications, and timely paperwork submission for invoicing and settlements. Hold drivers accountable for required documentation before dispatching future loads. Monitor driver hours of service, ensuring compliance and safety.
Terminal & Asset Management:
Oversee yard management, including equipment reconciliation, cleanliness, and compliance. Work closely with the Director of Fleet Maintenance to optimize terminal assets. Ensure profitability by managing costs and operational efficiency. Represent the terminal in management meetings and communicate key forecasting information. Develop and implement forward-thinking strategies for revenue growth, cost reduction, and operational improvements.
Safety & Compliance:
Deliver relevant safety training and messaging to drivers. Monitor driver logs and audit speeding behavior through the ELD system, providing coaching as needed. Address compliance issues, violations, and incidents to improve safety scores. Conduct quarterly audits of trucks and drivers to ensure regulatory compliance. Participate in driver ride-alongs for training and coaching.

Qualifications:
Experience in trucking, logistics, or terminal operations preferred. Strong knowledge of safety regulations, dispatch software, and industry best practices. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Problem-solving mindset with a focus on efficiency and profitability. Intermodal drayage experience is a plus.
