This position supports daily school transportation operations, including dispatch, route coordination, workforce scheduling, driver and aide supervision, safety compliance, and communication with school district staff and families. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader and strategic thinker who anticipates operational needs, responds effectively to unexpected challenges, and finds practical solutions to keep transportation services running smoothly. This role supports drivers and aides who transport students with special needs and disabilities, ensuring every student receives safe, respectful, reliable, and on-time transportation. Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily student transportation dispatch, routing, and driver and aide schedules.
• Anticipate staffing and operational needs and develop resourceful solutions to prevent service disruptions.
• Manage call-off coverage, employee availability, hours, and overtime.
• Support drivers and aides transporting students with special needs and disabilities.
• Maintain professional communication with parents, caregivers, school district staff, special education teams, and internal departments.
• Monitor timecards, attendance, leave, employee requirements, and operational reports.
• Respond to accidents and incidents, conduct assigned video reviews, and assist with insurance claims.
• Support employee recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management, and corrective action.
• Coordinate equipment and operational resources for field staff.
• Assist with short-term and long-term school transportation planning.
• Participate in the supervisory on-call rotation.
• Serve as a backup driver, aide, or Operations Manager when needed. Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record.
• Two years of experience in student transportation, school transportation, special needs transportation, dispatch, routing, logistics, fleet operations, or workforce scheduling.
• Previous supervisory, team lead, or operations management experience.
• Demonstrated strategic thinking, resourcefulness, reliability, and sound decision-making.
• Strong leadership, communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
• Patience, compassion, professionalism, and a commitment to student safety, dignity, and inclusion.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, databases, and routing or scheduling software.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and remain dependable in a fast-paced transportation environment.
• Ability to pass a background check, drug screening, and motor vehicle record review.
