Landscape Collaborative has been installing and maintaining some of the finest residential landscapes in the Greater Boston area for 40+ years. We are currently looking for a candidate who has the desire to build organization structures and support our maintenance and construction teams by helping us keep our fleet moving and grooving. A successful Fleet Maintenance Manager is thoughtful to the function of the larger organization and supports both the day to day management and long term productivity of our equipment. Our ideal candidate has a thoughtful eye to detail and is self-motivated, mechanically savvy, and comfortable working on a wide variety of equipment.

Our fleet includes:

Dump trucks Pickup trucks Trailers Snow blowers and plows Mowers Chainsaws, blowers, and other small-engine equipment Experience with every type of equipment is not required, but applicants must have a strong mechanical foundation. Primary Responsibilities Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, fuel, and engine problems Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled services Repair diesel and gasoline-powered equipment Inspect brakes, suspension, steering, lighting, and electrical systems Diagnose hydraulic leaks, hoses, fittings, cylinders, and related components Conduct routine fleet and equipment inspections Identify safety concerns and remove unsafe equipment from service Respond to equipment breakdowns and help minimize crew downtime Order and organize parts, fluids, filters, and shop supplies Maintain accurate service and repair records Communicate repair status, equipment needs, and major concerns to management Keep the shop, tools, parts storage, and work areas clean and organized Help establish and follow preventive-maintenance schedules Review outstanding repairs and maintenance priorities each week Perform other fleet, facility, and equipment-related duties as needed Helping to facilitate the registration process for our vehicles. Renewing vehicle registrations annually and updating the vehicle binder and spreadsheet to keep data current. Requesting spring leaf blower permits from the towns and distributing them to the crews

Skills:

Professional experience repairing vehicles, heavy equipment, landscaping equipment, construction equipment, agricultural equipment, or similar machinery Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic ability Working knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems Ability to perform routine maintenance Ability to safely use diagnostic equipment, power tools, and shop equipment Ability to work independently and manage repair priorities Strong attention to safety and workmanship Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record Preferred Qualifications Experience maintaining trucks or landscape construction equipment Experience with dingos, skid steers, snow plows and blowers Welding and light fabrication experience Commercial Driver's License Experience with DOT inspections and commercial-vehicle compliance Experience maintaining service records and preventive-maintenance programs Preferred licenses and certifications are helpful but are not required for the right candidate. Physical Requirements Applicants must be able to: Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and work in different positions Regularly lift and carry parts, tools, and materials Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions Safely climb into, under, and around trucks and equipment Perform work around grease, oil, fuel, dirt, noise, and moving machinery What Success Looks Like Reduces avoidable equipment breakdowns Diagnoses problems before replacing unnecessary parts Completes safe, dependable repairs Communicates clearly about equipment status and repair priorities Maintains accurate records Keeps the shop clean and organized Helps crews start the day with safe and operational equipment

$30.00 - $40.00 per hour Full benefit package includes health insurance, vacation & sick pay etc.
