Greenwood is currently hiring an Assistant Fleet Manager for our Worcester office to support the daily management of the company portfolio of vehicles, motorized equipment, and non-motorized units. This will include the ongoing acquisition, maintenance and disposal of all company vehicles, as well as the management of the fleet for compliance and utilization.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate company fleet maintenance program policies and procedures to ensure compliance Promote, inspect, coach and train branches on repair and maintenance of company assets and other fleet management processes Partner with managers' and safety department to create life cycle planning requirements to ensure optimal fleet to driver ratios are maintained on seasonal business forecasts Adherence to all company and DOT safety policies & procedures Manage total cost of ownership of fleet assets and motorized equipment for informed lifecycle decisions Effectively communicate with other departments, warehouse workers, drivers, leaders, vendors, etc. Manage the vehicle inspection process, required documentation, and auditing DVIR's to maintain DOT compliance Effectively utilize various data sources to determine future savings opportunities Partner with Branches and Safety teams to develop equipment specifications Review roadside inspection violations and assist with root cause identification and follow-up as necessary to help ensure DOT compliance issues are addressed effectively Provide required information and updates on fleet transfers, replacements, disposals, and acquisitions of vehicles and equipment Support corporate and field safety operations to ensure that material handling equipment and attachments are maintained and remain in compliance Assist in adhering to annual budget for maintenance and repairs Responsible for vehicle training, new hire training, and safety operation of the company fleet Other duties as needed or assigned
Requirements:
4+ years of experience with commercial motor vehicle operations Knowledge of DOT and state specific vehicle rules and regulations; IRP knowledge a plus Ability to build trust and confidence with management and supervision Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and general web-based applications Strong attention to detail, ability to multi-task and make informed decisions Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of employees - both written and verbal Travel ~25%-50% to local and regional offices/jobsites. Periodic overnight travel as needed Valid drivers license with clean driving record Ability to obtain a DOT Med card and pass pre-employment drug screening Ability to occasionally lift, push and pull 50+ pounds, reach above head height, squat, kneel, bend and reach Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position.
