Job Description

MSAD 60 is seeking an experienced and dedicated Director of Transportation to lead, oversee, and optimize our district's transportation services. This position is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable transit operations for all students and staff while effectively managing personnel, budgets, and state compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Route Development & Operations Management:

Plan, implement, and maintain district routing systems to actively design, optimize, and update bus routes and schedules.

Budgeting & Financial Planning:

Forecast and manage the operational budget to meet present and future district transportation needs.

Compliance & Record Keeping:

Maintain accurate operational records and prepare all required state, local, and district reports in a timely manner.

Personnel Recruitment & Evaluation:

Recruit, supervise, and evaluate transportation personnel to ensure adequate staffing levels and maintain high standards of employee performance.

Professional Development:

Provide ongoing professional development, safety training, and mandatory annual in-service programs for all staff.

Driver & Incident Safety Programs:

Implement comprehensive safety programs for drivers, including thorough investigations of safety-related incidents and concerns.

Student Safety Education:

Develop and carry out proactive student safety education programs across the district.

Operational Fleet Support:

Demonstrate the willingness and ability to drive routes or transport students directly when operational needs require.

Additional Duties:

Perform any other district duties as assigned or required by the Board of Directors.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree

Previous supervisory experience

Background in the business sector

Salary range $92,000- $100,000 with a strong benefit package.
