Job Description We are looking for an experienced and motivated Route Supervisor to oversee our vending and convenience service operations. This position is responsible for leading our route drivers, ensuring safe and efficient daily operations, maintaining excellent service standards, and supporting the successful delivery and merchandising of products at customer locations. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can manage people, routes, equipment, and daily priorities while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and customer service. This role works closely with Drivers, Warehouse, Maintenance, HR, and other departments to ensure our vending and convenience operations run smoothly. We are committed to providing attractive, tasty, nutritious food and convenience products at excellent prices while maintaining a safe, positive, and team-oriented work environment. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Safety & Fleet Management Supervise and ensure all route drivers operate safely on the road, at customer locations, and throughout the warehouse. Monitor and publish weekly GPS and driver safety metrics. Ensure weekly truck inspections are completed and follow up on required repairs with the mechanic. Coordinate truck repairs, including completing purchase orders and obtaining required approvals. Maintain accurate records of vehicle repairs and maintenance. Ensure all trucks, dollies, carts, securement equipment, and other driver equipment are safe and operational. Coordinate rental vehicles or equipment when necessary and obtain required approvals. Address and document unsafe behavior and administer corrective or disciplinary action when appropriate. Partner with HR to maintain driver medical card and compliance requirements. Lead and promote ongoing safety initiatives and a strong safety culture. Driver Hiring, Training & Employee Management Interview and hire route drivers in partnership with HR and staffing agencies when needed. Coordinate the onboarding process for new drivers and ensure all required paperwork is completed and submitted. Ensure every new driver completes a consistent, documented training program. Maintain and improve driver training materials and procedures as needed. Prepare and complete weekly payroll, including proper allocation of hours to other departments when required. Schedule and manage driver labor hours according to business needs. Manage driver uniforms, including ordering, replacement, and collection. Maintain and manage driver access credentials, including fuel cards, building access, alarm access, GPS systems, and other required systems. Conduct annual performance reviews for drivers. Address performance issues through coaching and progressive discipline when necessary. Build a positive, accountable, and service-focused driver team. Vending & Convenience Route Operations Plan, organize, and optimize daily vending and convenience service routes to maximize efficiency, productivity, and customer service. Update route and delivery systems whenever route assignments or schedules change. Manage the morning and afternoon outbound operations to ensure drivers leave on time and fully prepared. Ensure route checkouts are completed accurately and assist drivers in resolving issues before departure. Monitor warehouse and cooler activity to ensure all required products are picked, loaded, and sent out on routes. Coordinate and manage daily hot-shot and time-sensitive deliveries. Monitor route performance, service levels, and operational challenges and take corrective action when needed. Ensure drivers have the proper products, equipment, paperwork, and information needed to successfully service their routes. Address distribution and delivery errors, identify root causes, and work with employees to prevent repeat issues. Assist with coverage for catering, special deliveries, and miscellaneous customer service needs. Support consistent execution of vending and convenience service standards at customer locations. Inventory, Product Quality & Warehouse Support Partner with the Warehouse Supervisor to maintain organized warehouse and cooler areas. Monitor product quality and ensure expired or unsellable products are removed and properly disposed of. Help ensure drivers receive the correct products and quantities for their assigned routes. Identify recurring inventory, loading, or distribution issues and work with other departments to resolve them. Purchase and maintain equipment necessary to support route operations, including trucks, dollies, carts, securement straps, and other driver equipment. Leadership & Continuous Improvement Hold quarterly driver/team meetings with clear agendas, training materials, and actionable follow-up. Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to drivers. Work closely with Warehouse, Maintenance, HR, and other departments to resolve operational challenges. Identify opportunities to improve route efficiency, labor utilization, safety, service, and overall productivity. Lead continuous improvement initiatives and help implement new processes and procedures. Serve as a hands-on leader who supports the team and helps resolve issues throughout the day. What We're Looking For Previous experience supervising drivers, delivery routes, vending, distribution, convenience services, logistics, or a similar operation preferred. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Comfortable working both independently and hands-on with a team. Ability to hold employees accountable while maintaining a positive team environment. Basic computer skills and the ability to learn route, GPS, payroll, and operational systems. Strong commitment to safety, customer service, and operational excellence. Valid driver's license and a safe driving record. Ability to work flexible hours based on daily route and delivery requirements.
