Logistics Transportation Coordinator
Job Description
Position Overview :
Logistics Coordinator will assist in all aspects of planning, building, coordination, and execution of logistics operations to ensure the efficient and timely movement of goods. This role also provides support to the accounting team by handling routine administrative tasks, collecting documents, and coordinating with carriers and customers.Key Responsibilities :
Shipment Coordination :
Track and monitor shipments, providing updates to the logistics team and customers as needed. Assist in building, scheduling and coordinating shipments to ensure on-time delivery. Communicate with carriers, suppliers, and customers to arrange transportation and resolve any issues related to shipment delays or discrepancies.Documentation and Record Keeping :
Collecting and coordinating documents to support accounting processes. Prepare and process shipping documents, including bills of lading, packing lists, and customs paperwork. Maintain accurate records of shipment details, delivery schedules, and carrier information. Ensure all documentation complies with company policies and regulatory requirements.Inventory Management :
Coordinate with warehouse staff to manage incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring proper inventory control. Help validate what was received with what was scheduled.Customer Service :
Respond to customer inquiries regarding shipment status, delivery schedules, and logistics issues. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing concerns and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.Data Entry and Reporting :
Input shipment data into logistics management systems and update records as necessary.Administrative Support :
Assist with the coordination of logistics-related projects and initiatives.Qualifications :
Education :
High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred but not required.Experience :
Previous experience in logistics, supply chain, or customer service is a plus.Skills :
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.Knowledge :
Basic understanding of logistics and supply chain concepts is preferred. Familiarity with logistics management software or transportation management systems (TMS) is a plus.Physical Requirements :
Ability to work in an office environment with occasional visits to the warehouse or other logistics facilities. Ability to sit, stand, and move around for extended periodsJob Type:
Full-time Pay:
$45,000.00 - $52,000.00 per yearBenefits:
