This role involves managing carrier relationships, analyzing transportation data, and leading process improvements to enhance overall performance. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, problem-solving, and analytical skills to drive operational excellence. Key Responsibilities Transportation & Logistics Management Develop and manage transportation strategies to ensure cost-effective and efficient freight movement. Oversee daily shipment schedules, carrier performance, and compliance with company policies. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance delivery efficiency and reduce costs. Resolve escalated transportation issues, including delays, damages, and claims. Carrier & Vendor Management Negotiate contracts and rates with carriers to optimize freight spend. Develop and maintain strong relationships with logistics providers, ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met. Monitor and assess carrier performance, taking corrective actions as necessary. Financial Oversight & Reporting Analyze transportation costs, provide recommendations for cost savings, and track budget performance. Manage freight payment processes, ensuring accurate invoicing and billing reconciliation. Generate reports and provide insights on transportation trends, performance metrics, and operational improvements. Leadership & Team Development Lead and mentor a team of logistics specialists and coordinators. Provide training and development to enhance team efficiency and performance. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and cross-department collaboration.
