Job Description
We are seeking Traffic Managers for work at various locations throughout New York City.
Benefits:
Compensation- $17.00 to $21.25 per hour. o Plus, an extra $5.55 per hour (for a maximum additional benefit of $222.00 per week) when you work 50% or more of your time at the airport. Paid Time Off

Traffic Manager Job Description:
Understand and apply safe traffic control practices. Stop, hold, and release traffic, ensuring continuous traffic flow. Engage in customer service; receive and communicate directions, instructions and other information about activity in the area clearly and courteously. Manage stressful situations, like addressing uncooperative individuals and de-escalating conflict or confrontation, while keeping a safe environment and professional attitude and demeanor. Prevent and direct the removal of unauthorized persons or vehicles without escalating conflict or confrontation; report illegal activity, unusual activity, hustler activity, and homeless activity. Continually monitor traffic and weather conditions and report operational impact. Maintain free-flowing lanes of traffic where needed. Keep pedestrian crosswalks clear of stopped or standing vehicles. Prevent the "staging" of vehicles; direct any stopped or standing vehicle to leave the area. Uphold the policies and standards of SSPTMS and our client(s).Traffic Manager Job Requirements:
You must be punctual and dependable. You must be able to work outside and in all weather conditions including wind, rain, and snow. You must be able to stand and walk for as long as your assignment requires. Strong communication skills, including but not limited to radio communication skills. You must have a happy, caring, and positive attitude- customer service is important!
Job Type and Schedule:
Traffic Managers can expect and must be able to work variable hours and locations. Our best effort will be made to accommodate your availability and preferences. Schedules are subject to change based on our business needs and clients' demands.Certifications and Experience Required:
Traffic Managers must have, or be able and qualified to obtain, all the following certifications over the course of their employment as may be necessary depending on SSPTMS' staffing needs:- 4-hr Flagger, OSHA-30 Construction, and Site Safety Training (SST) certifications NYS Unarmed Security Guard License Sterile/SIDA Badge (for JFK Airport) First Aid/CPR/AED certifications At least one (1) year of flagging, traffic management, airport security, and/or other safety-related experience is preferred.
Uniform:
You must arrive clean and professional in appearance, abiding by all uniform and appearance guidelines. We supply your hat, t-shirt, vest, sweatshirt, winter jacket, raincoat, radio, lighted baton, and other items for use in extreme weather conditions. You must provide your own pants and footwear in accordance with our uniform and appearance guidelines.About SSPTMS:
