Job Overview :

We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Fleet Manager to lead a team of technicians and mechanics in a robust preventative maintenance and repair program. The role focuses on maintaining a fleet of vehicles and equipment to ensure safety and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities :

Lead, train, and develop a team of employees Monitor and assess performance across various operations Oversee multiple facilities and shop operations Plan manpower scheduling to meet operational needs Support operational teams with equipment-related issues Monitor and evaluate opportunities to reduce costs and increase efficiencies Manage administrative tasks, including payroll approval, repair order documentation, and compliance checks Handle corrective actions for team members as needed Maintain clean and safe working environments Communicate with clients to meet operational and company needs Oversee external repair services for equipment Conduct pre-shift meetings to prepare teams Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies Participate in the hiring process for shop roles

Qualifications :

Minimum 2 years of experience in fleet maintenance or operations management and 5-8 years of direct managerial experience Prior experience as a technician or mechanic High school diploma or equivalent required Familiarity with heavy-duty vehicle maintenance and repair Ability to travel to oversee multiple locations as necessary Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, safety standards, and company policies Excellent leadership and interpersonal communication skills Proficiency in documentation and internal communication Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Word, Excel, fleet management systems, and ERP/timekeeping systems
