Job Description

Job description: The Fleet Manager is responsible for overseeing, maintaining, and optimizing a large fleet of heavy civil construction equipment and light duty support vehicles across multiple job sites in Ohio, Indiana and Pennsylvania. This role ensures equipment availability, reliability, safety, regulatory compliance, and cost-effective operation to support projects. The Fleet Manager will also serve as the internal subject matter expert (SME) for the Tenna fleet management platform, ensuring proper configuration, maintenance, and adoption across the organization. Key Responsibilities Manage the full lifecycle of construction equipment, including acquisition, utilization, maintenance, repair, and return/disposal Oversee preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend equipment life Coordinate equipment deployment, transfers, and logistics between job sites Manage fleet management systems, telematics, and maintenance tracking software, including administration and configuration of the Tenna platform Serve as the internal subject matter expert (SME) for Tenna , responsible for system configuration, asset setup, data accuracy, troubleshooting issues, and ongoing platform management Drive adoption and effective use of Tenna across operations by supporting teams, resolving platform issues, and improving fleet tracking workflows Monitor fleet performance metrics, maintenance costs, fuel usage, and equipment utilization Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, EPA, and Ohio state regulations related to equipment operation and safety Establish and enforce equipment inspection, safety, and operator training standards Work closely with operation and project managers to meet job-specific equipment needs Investigate equipment failures Maintain accurate records for maintenance, inspections, warranties, and regulatory compliance Required Qualifications 3+ years of combined experience in logistics and fleet management Strong working knowledge of heavy equipment (excavators, dozers, loaders, graders, trucks, etc.) Experience supervising maintenance personnel and managing shop operations Proficiency with fleet management or CMMS software Strong understanding of preventive maintenance programs and equipment diagnostics Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and Ohio equipment and transportation regulations Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment Preferred Qualifications Experience with telematics systems and equipment data analytics Experience with Tenna or similar system of construction asset management software Budgeting and capital planning experience in heavy civil construction Proficient in Microsoft 365 Physical & Work Environment Requirements Ability to visit active construction sites and maintenance facilities Occasional travel throughout Ohio Ability to work extended hours during peak construction seasons Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary based on experience Health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) Paid time off and holidays
Compensation:
