Transportation Manager

Bell & Evans is looking for an experienced Transportation Manager - Live Operations to lead our Live Haul transportation team. In this role, you will oversee the daily transportation of live poultry from our farm network to our processing facilities. You will be responsible for managing drivers, equipment, scheduling, safety, performance, and continuous improvement while ensuring our operation supports the needs of production. If you are a hands-on transportation leader with experience managing people, equipment, and complex schedules, we want to hear from you! 1st Shift Available What You'll Do Lead and manage daily, weekly, and mid-range Live Haul transportation operations. Develop transportation schedules that support production and operational needs. Manage and coordinate Live Haul drivers, tractors, trailers, forklifts, fan trailers, and other transportation assets. Partner closely with plant leadership, farm operations, maintenance, and other departments to stay ahead of operational challenges. Adjust schedules and resources to support changing production needs. Coordinate with the garage on preventative maintenance, equipment breakdowns, and fleet availability. Conduct regular equipment audits focused on safety, compliance, and overall condition. Establish and monitor key performance indicators related to safety, driver performance, fleet efficiency, fuel usage, idle time, and driver retention. Utilize transportation systems and reporting tools to monitor performance and identify improvement opportunities. Lead, coach, mentor, and develop a team of drivers and transportation employees. Ensure employees complete required training and maintain compliance with company policies and procedures. Foster a culture of accountability, safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement. What We're Looking For 7-10 years of transportation, logistics, or Live Haul experience. Previous experience leading teams in a high-volume transportation environment. Strong knowledge of transportation scheduling and fleet operations. Experience with transportation technology and systems, including: ELDs Transportation Management Systems (TMS) Driver camera systems Live Haul systems such as M-Tech or similar platforms Strong understanding of fleet safety and transportation compliance. Proven leadership and people development skills. Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to make decisions and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment. Valid driver's license required. CDL required. Physical & Work Environment This position requires the ability to work in both office and operational environments. The role may include walking, standing, climbing, bending, reaching, and occasionally lifting or moving more than 50 pounds.
