Excellent Career Growth Opportunities We are seeking a results-driven Logistics & Transportation Manager to lead and optimize transportation and freight operations, ensuring the safe, timely, and cost-effective movement of materials and finished goods. Reporting to the Vice President of Operations and Planning, this role will manage carrier relationships, negotiate freight rates, optimize shipping routes, oversee customs activities, and partner with cross-functional teams to improve logistics performance, service, and cost efficiency. Responsibilities Carrier Management Manage relationships with carriers, brokers, and third-party logistics (3PL) providers. Monitor carrier cost, service, safety, and on-time performance. Maintain a reliable and cost-effective carrier network. Review carrier performance and address service issues. Identify alternative carriers to improve capacity and mitigate risk. Freight Negotiation & Cost Management Negotiate freight rates and transportation agreements with carriers and logistics providers. Analyze freight spend and identify cost-saving opportunities. Optimize contracted and spot rates, freight consolidation, and transportation strategies. Review freight invoices and resolve billing discrepancies and unnecessary charges. Lane & Route Optimization Analyze transportation lanes and carrier performance to optimize the freight network. Develop preferred carrier and routing strategies. Optimize routes to reduce costs, transit times, and empty miles. Identify opportunities to improve shipment consolidation and truck utilization. Evaluate LTL versus truckload options based on cost and service requirements. Partner with internal teams to improve scheduling and load efficiency. Freight Claims & RMA Management Investigate and resolve freight-related RMAs and damage claims. Identify root causes and coordinate corrective actions with carriers and internal teams. Manage freight claims and recover eligible costs. Track recurring damage trends and implement preventive actions. Monitor open claims to ensure timely resolution. Customs & International Transportation Coordinate customs clearance for imports and exports. Partner with brokers, carriers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure timely clearance. Ensure shipping and customs documentation is accurate and complete. Monitor international shipments and resolve transportation or customs delays. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related discipline preferred. 5+ years of progressive transportation, logistics, or supply chain experience, including experience managing carrier relationships, freight contracts, transportation operations, and third-party logistics providers. Demonstrated experience in freight negotiations and domestic and international transportation, including truckload, LTL, and parcel. Working knowledge of freight claims management, customs clearance, international shipping requirements, and transportation-related issue resolution.
