Job Description
QUALIFICATIONS
Three (3) years' experience in transportation
High School Diplomas
Bachelor's degree
Possess comprehensive knowledge of pupil
Must be able to work in an environment with frequent
Able to receive verbal communication and convey details or important instructions to other workers accurately, loudly or quickly.
Able to communicate e?ectively, both verbally and written, with parents, agencies and sta? members.
Able to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines and work under
Supervisory and leadership experience, preferably in a school or transportation
Basic knowledge of computer applications and Microsoft O?ce programs such as Word, Excel, and transportation software packages.
Basic knowledge of o?ce machines, printer, FAX machine and
Pro?ciency in the use of technology for communication, research, reporting, presentation, routing, and research.
E?ective communication skills with the ability to interface diplomatically with administrators and other district sta?, parents, community members, and outside professional contacts.
Knowledge of local roadways and routing procedures, CDL, and school bus certi?cation knowledge.

Director of Business Affairs Purpose:
The job of the Transportation Router was established for the purpose/s of providing support within the student transportation services area with speci?c responsibilities for scheduling of regular and special education bus drivers; coordinating the assignments of regularly scheduled routes, special events, ?eld trips; and monitoring bus drivers' tra?c and locations.
Job Duties:
Prepares a schedule to e?ciently transport the public and non-public students to regular and special education programs within and outside of Penn Hills in accordance with Act
Assists in the administration of an up-to-date listing of school buses and assigned drivers and aides.
Assures accuracy and completion of route
Maintains cordial working relationships with bus contractor(s).
Maintain current knowledge of routes and locations to assure timely services and accurate information.
Maintain or assist in maintaining assigned ?les and records; receive and process information according to established guidelines and procedures.
Demonstrates a comprehensive knowledge of roads and streets in the Penn Hills School
Answer telephone calls, operate the two-way radio base stations, and retrieve/review school bus camera footage.
Coordinate all requests for transportation to ensure that there will not be an interruption to the regular schedule.
Ensure bus drivers are properly certi?cated, quali?ed, and
Respond to emergency management brought about by accidents, closed roads, hazardous road conditions, weather, late dismissals, and other interruptions to regular
Serve as a consultant and specialist on transportation cooperative committees and/or study activities.
Assists with the overall operations and management of the Transportation
Maintain transportation related software programs and review updates between the student information system (SIS) and the transportation software.
Perform a variety of o?ce duties as assigned; compile data from clearly de?ned sources and prepare reports; answers telephone calls and route calls or messages, as necessary;

Maintains a ?exible schedule due to the demands of the
Maintain billing and accounting for established accounts
Perform other duties assigned by the Chief Financial O?cer.
Essential Functions:
This position plans, directs and coordinates the transportation and motor vehicle maintenance programs for the Transportation department. The Transportation Manager develops an e?cient and e?ective transportation network providing safe transportation for the resident children within the district. All job functions are to be executed through the lens of high quality customer service. Customers are defined as both internal and external clients. Examples demonstrative of high quality customer service may include, but are not limited to, the following: prompt responsiveness to inquiries, professional and courteous verbal and non-verbal communication, and proactive problem solving.
PERFORMANCE ACCOUNTABILITIES
Oversees the daily operational functions to guarantee safe transportation for all district children to and from school, ?eld trips, vocational-technical programs, sporting events and practice sites.
Develops and maintains a departmental budget along with the Director of Business Affairs.
Maintain employee and driver records to ensure compliance with all state and federal
Develop and maintain the master transportation schedule for resident children to all public and non-public schools.
Coordinates all changes in school calendars for all schools receiving district
As needed, check weather conditions and make any recommendations as to the regular opening, delayed opening or closing of schools.
Develop and recommend speci?cations for school buses, vehicles and
Complete all required state reports for pupil transportation reimbursement
Maintain all records required for the state transportation report and audits.
Complete PA Department of Education eTran report.
Maintain calendars for all schools that students are assigned to for transportation.
Develops and administers a transportation program to meet all the requirements of the daily instructional program, extra-curricular activities, athletics, special education transportation and mandates of policy and code.
Serves as a source of current information regarding school bus transportation operations.
Develops and maintains a driver's manual and enforces all transportation policies and procedures as outlined in that manual.
Coordinates a comprehensive driver's training program, including school personnel and contractor(s).
Keeps educated of all safety laws and other bus regulations.
Approve and place accounting code on all invoices for the transportation department.
