Transportation Coordinator

Are you a safety minded individual with previous experience in transportation and safety? If so, we're looking for a dedicated team player to join our Team!
Transportation Coordinator's Job Purpose:
Works closely with Area Managers and Center Directors, to create bus/van schedules and routes to schools and center locations. Be the lead driver supervising a team of drivers transporting children to and from school and center locations. The hours for this job may vary from 30 to 40 per week. Minimum Education & Certifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. CDL with Passenger/School Bus Endorsement (reviewed semiannually) Criminal and background check and child abuse clearance Experience & Skills Required 2 to 4 years of transportation experience preferred. Good interpersonal, verbal communication, and presentation skills. Knowledge of federal and state rules and regulations regarding bus safety and transportation issues preferred. Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office. Ability to use internet, email, additional software programs as required and office equipment, phones or other electronic devices. Able to physically perform the job functions Unblemished driving record Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. Ability to communicate effectively with children, staff, and parents Ability to assist with training Duties Maintain and make changes to bus routes and schedules as needed Maintain and communicate bus manifests to TCLC and School partner staff Maintain bus rosters for routes using current software system Contact local schools to confirm early dismissals, closings, and delays Pick up and drop off children daily Supervise, train, hire and terminate (if necessary) a team of drivers. Work with the Bus Drivers and Monitors to ensure each child is signed on and off the bus at their designated stop or center Complete pre and post trip inspection forms which include but are not limited to- check oil, wiper fluid, brake fluid, lights, etc. Monitor required maintenance of vehicle fleet Comply with all safety requirements Report incidents/accidents immediately Conduct required safety drills and provide documentation Respects the confidentiality of children, families, and staff at all times Provides expertise on bus routing Conduct regular bus evacuation drills All other duties as assigned
