Transportation Manager Position Summary We are seeking a dependable, organized, and detail-oriented NEMT Scheduler to coordinate non-emergency medical transportation services for patients and clients. The NEMT Scheduler will be responsible for receiving transportation requests, scheduling trips, coordinating with drivers and facilities, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring transportation needs are met in a timely and professional manner. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and customer service skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple requests in a fast-paced environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Receive, review, and process NEMT transportation requests. Schedule patient trips based on appointment times, transportation needs, and available resources. Coordinate transportation schedules with drivers, patients, medical facilities, and other authorized parties. Confirm trip details and communicate changes or cancellations promptly. Monitor scheduled trips and assist with resolving delays, scheduling conflicts, and transportation issues. Maintain accurate and complete trip records and documentation. Enter and update transportation information in scheduling and dispatch systems. Ensure all transportation requests are handled according to company policies and procedures. Maintain confidentiality of patient and client information. Provide professional and courteous customer service. Communicate effectively with drivers and operations staff to support on-time transportation. Identify potential scheduling issues and take appropriate action to prevent service disruptions. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Previous experience in scheduling, customer service, healthcare, transportation, dispatch, or an administrative role preferred. Previous NEMT or medical transportation experience is a plus. Strong computer and data-entry skills. Ability to learn and effectively use scheduling and dispatch software. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to multitask and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Preferred Skills Knowledge of NEMT operations and transportation coordination. Experience working with medical facilities, healthcare providers, or Medicaid transportation programs. Familiarity with transportation scheduling and dispatch systems. Work Environment This position requires frequent communication with patients, healthcare facilities, drivers, and internal staff. The successful candidate must be able to remain professional, organized, and calm while managing multiple transportation requests and time-sensitive changes.
