Job Description

Transportation Manager - Midwest Region Wil-Sites Truck Lines, LLC. is a regional, third party logistics provider that specializes in contracted transportation services to our customer, 84 Lumber, a leader in the building materials industry. We are able to scale and customize our services to meet customer needs based on their market conditions and delivery service requirements of their materials and products. Our company is looking for a Transportation Manager to oversee all of our contracted services to our customer in Greenville SC. This position will primarily be based out of Greenville SC with the availability to travel. Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist in the selection, training, and evaluation of the team of commercial drivers
  • Provide daily supervision of drivers and monitors to ensure proper and consistent performance of duties and required daily paperwork
  • Must be able to motivate and manage drivers from varying cultures with diverse personalities
  • Must have the ability to quickly assess, troubleshoot and solve daily situations
  • Drive trucks of varying sizes to execute deliveries when the customer's needs dictate
  • Must maintain an effective working relationship with team of drivers, corporate office, local vendors and our customer's team of employees
  • Must be able to work directly with our fleet manager to ensure completion of all preventative maintenance and repairs on all equipment
  • Conduct field investigation of vehicular accidents and claims of property damage
  • Perform other duties as assigned Knowledge and Abilities
  • Working knowledge and ability to learn applicable DOT rules and regulations, equipment, and all company policies and procedures
  • Safe driving practices
  • Communicate effectively both written and orally Education and Experience
  • High school diploma and 2 years' experience operating a commercial motor vehicle
  • Prior supervisory experience in a transportation setting is preferred, but not required Licenses and Other Requirements
  • Must possess a valid commercial class A driver's license
  • Ability to maintain a valid and current DOT medical card
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and participate in ongoing random drug pool
  • Willingness to train and learn the safe operation of a truck-mounted forklift and a truck-mounted drywall crane, previous experience is a plus
