Position Scope The Hauling Division Manager works within the Rental, Sales, and Service Departments to ensure efficient and timely transportation of CAT equipment and materials. This role involves coordinating transportation logistics, managing carrier relationships, and ensuring compliance with regulations. The manager will optimize transportation processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
Requirements:
Knowledge and Skill Requirements Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to use data for decision-making. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. High-level proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS) is a plus. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities concurrently. Strong collaboration skills across departments and teams. Preferred Qualification(s) Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Experience with transportation management systems (TMS). Education Requirements High school diploma or equivalent (required). Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or related field (preferred). Essential Job Functions Coordinate and oversee transportation of CAT equipment and materials for timely delivery. Ensure hauling team, truck drivers, and dispatchers operate efficiently and are properly trained. Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and industry standards. Monitor transportation performance metrics and implement improvements. Collaborate with other departments for seamless transportation activities. Manage relationships with outside carriers to maintain customer service standards. Coordinate with company truck shop for fleet maintenance and repairs. Develop and implement transportation policies and procedures. Prepare detailed reports and presentations on transportation performance. Address transportation-related issues promptly. Leadership Responsibilities Direct and manage the hauling team, including drivers and dispatchers. Provide training and ensure team members are equipped for their roles. Foster collaboration across departments to achieve operational goals. Preferred Experience and Skills 5+ years of experience in transportation management, logistics, or related field. Proven experience managing transportation logistics and carrier relationships. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience working across multiple departments. Physical and Mental Requirements Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Mental agility for problem-solving and decision-making under pressure. Work Environment Office setting with frequent interaction with dispatchers, drivers, and other departments. Occasional visits to truck shop and field locations. Requires collaboration with internal teams and external carriers. Most work is conducted in a comfortable office environment but exposure to site conditions may also occur. Personal protective equipment must be worn in areas as required.
