Traffic Control Supervisor

Job Description

We're seeking an experienced Traffic Control Supervisor to lead our traffic control operations, ensuring safe work zones for our crews and the traveling public. This role combines hands-on fieldwork with crew leadership, requiring both technical expertise in traffic control setup and the ability to develop and guide team members.
Job Responsibilities:
Lead, manage, and develop traffic control crews, ensuring all personnel are trained andadhering to safety standards and regulations. Develop, review, and implement Temporary Traffic Control (TTC) plans in compliance with the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) and local agency requirements. Conduct pre-job site assessments and develop traffic control plans (TCPs) appropriate to project scope and location Conduct daily safety briefings and ensure crew adheres to all safety protocols. Ensure proper placement, maintenance, and removal of signs, cones, barricades, arrow boards, and other traffic control devices Maintain inventory of equipment and ensure all devices meet safety and compliance standards. Coordinate closely with the Operations Manager and all divisions to integrate traffic control operations seamlessly with construction schedules. Ensure all traffic control equipment is in good working order and properly stored. Maintain accurate daily logs, documentation of traffic control setups, and records of crew hours and incident reports. Act as the primary point of contact for traffic control inquiries from inspectors, police, and the public. Monitor traffic flow and adjust setups as needed to maintain safety and minimize public impact
Skills Needed:
Clean, valid driver's license. Must hold an up-to-date Flagger Certification and an ATSSA Traffic Control Technician or Traffic Control Supervisor certification preferred. Strong knowledge of MUTCD guidelines and TDOT standards Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in all weather conditions Minimum 3-5 years of traffic control experience - firm knowledge of proper equipment, materials, and supplies needed. Comfortable utilizing technology and software's: Ipad, Iphone, and computer.
