Houston, TX An established bulk transportation company is seeking an experienced Terminal Manager to oversee a Houston-area operation specializing in liquid bulk transportation, including chemicals and other regulated commodities . This position is responsible for the overall performance of the terminal, including dispatch, staffing, driver and equipment utilization, maintenance coordination, safety and regulatory compliance, customer service, and financial performance. Responsibilities Oversee all day-to-day terminal operations. Ensure compliance with company operating procedures, DOT/FMCSA requirements, hazardous materials regulations, and customer-specific requirements. Manage and support dispatch operations to ensure safe, efficient movement of drivers and equipment. Monitor driver availability, hours of service, and utilization. Monitor tractor and tank trailer utilization and revenue performance. Implement strategies to improve equipment and driver productivity. Review monthly profit and loss statements and monitor terminal operating costs. Make staffing decisions and evaluate employee performance. Train, mentor, and develop terminal personnel. Participate in customer meetings and assist with resolving operational or service issues. Oversee shop and maintenance activities, including coordination of repairs and inspections. Review equipment files, inspection requirements, and preventive maintenance schedules. Oversee terminal purchasing and inventory. Develop and implement operating procedures for new customers, products, or service requirements. Analyze operational challenges and implement effective solutions. Maintain terminal security and operational readiness. Participate in an after-hours/on-call rotation and remain available when operational needs require additional support. Qualifications Experience in bulk liquid transportation, chemical transportation, tank operations, or a closely related transportation environment preferred . Previous transportation management or supervisory experience preferred. Knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, hazardous materials, tanker operations, and driver/equipment compliance . Familiarity with tank trailers, tractors, dispatch operations, inspections, and maintenance coordination. Understanding of the safety and service requirements associated with transporting chemicals and regulated commodities. Ability to review and interpret operational and financial data. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-changing transportation environment. Strong attention to detail. Ability to provide clear direction while mentoring and motivating employees. Computer proficiency and the ability to learn transportation-related systems. $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
