• Friday + rotating weekend on-call Candidate Source is working with a growing healthcare logistics company in Charlottesville, VA that is looking for a Transportation Manager .

You'll lead dispatch across all shifts, manage the employee transportation team, and run the independent contractor courier network that handles time-sensitive healthcare deliveries. This role fits a hands-on leader who knows dispatch systems, stays steady when plans change, and enjoys building a team that can handle whatever the day brings. Shift/Hours Monday

• Friday, full-time, salaried (exempt) Supports an operation that runs beyond standard hours, with a rotating weekend on-call schedule Job Duties Lead daily dispatch across all shifts, monitor the dispatch board, and adjust in real time to keep routes covered and deliveries on time Respond quickly to weather events, service disruptions, and volume spikes, and recommend ways to improve route efficiency and cost per delivery Manage the independent contractor network, including enrollment, qualification, and tracking of licensing, insurance, and credentialing renewals Own the accuracy of contractor settlement and invoice data, catching discrepancies before payment and fixing the root causes Serve as the escalation point for account managers and manage calls and tickets through RingCentral and Zendesk Coach and develop the transportation team, build SOPs, and act as the team's expert on the dispatch platform Report regularly to the Director of Operations on coverage, capacity, and performance Job Requirements 3+ years of experience in transportation, dispatch, logistics, or similar operations, including leadership responsibility Familiarity with dispatch and communication systems such as CXT, RingCentral, Zendesk, and Microsoft 365, or comparable platforms Working knowledge of independent contractor qualification, documentation, and compliance Strong accuracy with data in a settlement, billing, or payroll setting Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, especially under pressure Clear, professional written and verbal communication Ability to participate in a rotating weekend on-call schedule and travel between company locations and customer sites Must pass a drug screen and background check; able to lift up to 50 lbs Preferred Healthcare, pharmacy, or other time-critical delivery experience Experience administering an independent contractor courier network Familiarity with OpenForce, AccuSource HR, or similar enrollment and screening platforms Why This Role Salary of $95,000•$100,000: strong pay for a transportation leadership role in the Charlottesville market Direct hire: a permanent position with a growing company Full benefits: medical, dental, vision, HSA, disability, life insurance, 401(k) with company match, and PTO Real ownership: you'll run dispatch and the contractor network, reporting directly to the Director of Operations Meaningful work: your team's deliveries directly support healthcare providers and patients If you're a transportation leader who thrives in a fast-paced, time-critical operation, apply today to connect with a Candidate Source recruiter!
