263123 - Full-time Monday-Friday, 7 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Job overview Schneider is seeking a Fleet Manager in Chesapeake to serve as a coach to a group of owner-operator truck drivers who do business with Schneider. The Fleet Manager will talk to owner-operators about business-related issues and answer any questions they have related to their contract with Schneider. Responsibilities Facilitate owner-operator business sessions. Ensure compliance with owner-operators' contracts. Administer operating standards concerning public safety and regulatory compliance within Schneider and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations. Manage the terminal's safety and compliance by monitoring and improving processes related to Hours of Service regulations, inspections, retention and operating procedures. Oversee the cost, utilization and return on investment of company assets. Identify the root cause of service issues and discuss contractual compliance with owner-operators. Analyze various courses of action and make recommendations. Skills and qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. 2 years of transportation experience preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Solid analytical skills. Able to take initiative. Able to understand how data drives technology. Pay and benefits Medical, dental and vision insurance.
