Milwaukee Public Schools - 3.7 Milwaukee, WI Job Details Full-time $65,000 - $75,000 a year 12 hours ago Benefits Commuter assistance Qualifications Driver's License Full Job Description Job Summary Under general supervision, the Transportation Associate II acts as the liaison with other departments and schools in the area of transportation services as well as scheduling. Maintain communication between parents, students, contractors, drivers, and district staff. Conduct bus safety programs at schools and administer the school bus pass program. The successful applicant will also assist in the development, preparation, evaluation and modification of school bus routes. The starting salary range is $65,000 - $75,000 (12 months/260 days) Administrative applications for the following position are being accepted by the Office of Human Resources by 11:59 PM CST on Monday September 14, 2026. Contact recruitment coordinator, Veronica Bohannon with additional questions - . ; Other Information Responsibilities Develops school bus safety programs; prepares and facilitates school transportation assembly presentations; and distributes literature to communicate the bus safety procedures to students and parents. Represents Pupil Transportation Services at meetings involving complaints against bus contractors or students. Responds to inquiries/complaints from parents, citizens, students, contractors and bus drivers regarding transportation problems; assists parents who visit the department with their transportation problems. Assists staff members from Student Services, Special Education Services and alternative programs in placing students on school bus routes or with general transportation problems. Maintains communication among parents, students, school staff, bus contractors, bus drivers and other personnel to promote understanding of transportation policies and procedures; resolves specific transportation problems. Performs field investigations that relate to student transportation problems. Schedules and modifies school bus routes; utilizing Computer Assisted Transportation System. Monitors school bus routes to ensure adequacy of services and that the bus services are operating safely and efficiently. Maintains current records of all routes, route changes, extra-curricular activities, and other records required by the Pupil Transportation Manager/Director of Business Services. Oversees administration of the MPS specialty transportation programs: private school transportation reimbursement program, city bus pass program, Chapter 220 inter-district transportation program, GPS and Mobile Data Terminal technology initiative; ;busing needs for the Community and Assessment Training Program; as well as Contractor Compliance Auditing functions. Monitors contract compliance of vendors actively servicing the district';s transportation needs. Monitors compliance with the School Board';s policy concerning pupil transportation; assists in the development and implementation of student transportation policies and procedures. Evaluates school bus loading and unloading procedures and instructs school personnel on proper safety procedures. Performs other job-related tasks as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor';s Degree in Education, Liberal Arts, Business Administration or closely related field from an accredited college or university. Prior experience working for a bus contractor is preferred. Valid driver';s License and availability of a properly insured vehicle at the time of appointment and throughout employment. Equivalent combinations of job-related coursework and experience may also be considered.
