Assistant Terminal Fleet Manager

Job Description

BTI Oshkosh is an independent contractor to FedEx Ground/Home Delivery. Blackland Transport is a shipping and logistics company which largely operates as a last-mile contractor for FedEx. This role will be 2nd in command in the Oshkosh terminal, and will take on certain management responsibilities on a daily basis in addition to securing deliveries are completed. They will also support the terminal manager in their responsibilities. This leader is a crucial part of our success as an organization, and requires a high-level of independence, organization, creativity, and above all else a relentless commitment to doing what it takes to deliver results. Pay is $240.00 to $260.00 per day.
Qualifications:
Previous management experience or previous FedEx experience preferred Must be 21 years or older Clean driving record with no accidents and no more than 1 minor violation in the last three years Must pass drug screen and DOT physical Must pass background check
Roles and Responsibilities:
T his role involves a combination of delivery driving and assisting the Terminal Manager in the day-to-day management of terminal operations: Run routes as required in order to manage variable route volume, call ins, vacations or overflow routes. Specific responsibilities as assigned by the Terminal Manager, involving the day-to-day management and long-term goals of Blackland's operations in the Oshkosh terminal including: Lead the dispatching of drivers from the terminal including: ensuring drivers are present for routes, that they have all required equipment in good working order, assisting in finding and loading all assigned packages, and identifying solutions to make sure all packages are delivered. O n assigned nights (2-3/week), own the review, edit and confirmation in DRO of routes and drivers for the next day's operations. Be available to resolve all on-route driver issues, as well as customer or FedEx issues: include addressing performance issues. Assist in managing, tracking, and maintaining trucks and other Blackland assets committed to the Oshkosh operations, including proactive maintenance, inspections, and tracking of scanners & iPads. M anage driver compliance with all required policies including Ground Cloud, Safety Training, Pre-and-Post Trip Inspections, and addressing VEDR events. A bove all else responsible along with the Terminal Manager for operating a safe and productive operation in the Terminal.

Strong ownership mindset who is able to manage the complexities of a fast-moving operation. Strong communication and leadership skills. Ability to adapt quickly as circumstances or priorities shift.
