This is a hands-on working position. We are looking for someone who can lead a crew while also performing the physical work alongside the team every day. The right candidate must be comfortable working outdoors, lifting, planting, grading, installing sod, moving material, and completing all other landscape installation tasks.
Responsibilities include:
Lead and organize a landscape crew Work hands-on with the crew throughout the day Review daily work orders, landscape plans, and project instructions Install trees, palms, shrubs, groundcovers, and ornamental plants Install sod Install mulch, decorative rock, shell, and other landscape materials Prepare and grade landscape areas Perform bed preparation and soil installation Assist with removal of existing sod, plants, shrubs, and landscape material Load, unload, and move plants, sod, mulch, rock, soil, and other materials Operate wheelbarrows, hand tools, power tools, and landscape equipment Assist with drainage, grading, and general site preparation when required Make sure plants and materials are installed according to plans and instructions Maintain proper spacing, layout, elevations, and finished appearance Ensure work is completed efficiently and to company quality standards Maintain a clean and organized jobsite Ensure all debris and excess material are removed Take responsibility for company tools, equipment, trucks, trailers, and materials Communicate with supervisors and project managers regarding progress, materials, or jobsite issues Identify and report irrigation, drainage, plant health, or site-condition concerns Train and guide crew members Maintain safe work practices
Requirements:
Strong South Florida landscape installation experience required Previous Crew Leader, Foreman, or similar leadership experience required Must be willing and able to perform physical landscape work every day Must be able to work outdoors in Florida heat and weather conditions Must be able to lift and move landscape materials Valid driver's license required Ability to safely drive company trucks and trailers preferred Good understanding of South Florida plants, trees, palms, sod, and landscape materials Ability to read basic landscape plans and follow layouts preferred Experience with grading and site preparation strongly preferred Skid steer, mini excavator, loader, or other equipment experience is a strong plus Strong communication and organizational skills Dependable, professional, and able to lead by example Must be legally authorized to work in the
United States Schedule:
Full-time, Monday-Friday Minimum 40 hours, typically 40-50 hours per week Occasional Saturday work may be required Overtime available
Pay:
$23-$28 per hour, based on experience, leadership ability, equipment experience, and overall landscape knowledge. This is not a supervisory-only position. The Crew Leader is expected to work alongside the crew and lead by example while maintaining productivity, quality, and safety.
Pay:
$23.00 - $28.00 per hour
