The hours worked for this job will vary depending on activity and business needs. You will be required to work some weekends and off shifts as needed. Availability is important.Equipment Used:

Oversees daily transportation operations, including scheduling, dispatching, and supervising drivers to ensure safe, timely, and cost-effective delivery or transit services. Supervise and schedule drivers/transportation staff, including shift assignments and coverage Train drivers on food safety handling, allergen control, and proper loading/unloading procedures for bulk commodities Maintain records: driver ELD logs, DOT files, rail car tracking, weight tickets, and sanitation/washout logs Monitor routes, delivery/transit schedules, and vehicle utilization for efficiency Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, safety standards, and company policies Coordinate vehicle maintenance and inspections with fleet/maintenance manager Liaise with mill production, quality assurance, and sales teams to align transportation with production schedules and customer commitments Train new drivers and enforce safety protocols Maintain accurate records (logs, licenses, certifications, inspection reports) Communicate with drivers, customers, or other departments to resolve issues Prepare reports on performance metrics (on-time rates, safety incidents, costs)Required Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred 3+ years of experience in transportation/logistics, with supervisory experience preferred Valid CDL class A driver's license Knowledge ofDOT/FMCSA
regulations and safety compliance Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills Proficiency with dispatch/routing software and basic computer skills Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends Able to travel occasionally Here are some of the physical requirements for this role: Able to work around dust, grain elevators, and industrial equipment You will need the ability to frequently lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds and occasionally more This job will require the ability to ascend/descend ladders and stairs Ability to detect odors and understand/discern safety warning systems You will be required to wear PPE Will be exposed to the weather, including extreme heat and/or cold, wind, rain, snow, and other adverse weather conditions Must be able to walk over uneven surfaces Will be exposed to various site hazards, including but not limited to loud noises and flashing lights, dust and fumes, hazardous materials, heavy equipment and machinery, and other situations specific to the work and locationAdditional Information:
