Position Summary:
Borden Dairy is seeking a people-focused, hands-on professional to join our team as a District Sales Leader . In this dynamic leadership role, you will oversee the daily operations of delivery drivers, ensuring compliance with DOT regulations and driving departmental efficiency. You will play a key role in routing, standardization, and training efforts to support the safe and effective distribution of company products.
Job Responsibilities:
Supervise, lead, and mentor Route Sales Representatives to ensure high performance and customer satisfaction. Support the Distribution Manager in training initiatives, operational efficiency, data analysis, equipment utilization, and route optimization. Assist in scheduling and performance evaluation of Route Sales Representatives. Identify and implement process improvements using a continuous improvement mindset. Enforce all company policies, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance standards. Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with OSHA regulations. Foster strong, collaborative relationships with the supply chain leadership team. Partner with cross-functional departments to meet safety, service, cost, and personnel goals.
Qualifications:
Associate's degree in a related field preferred; high school diploma or GED required. Minimum of four years of supervisory experience in a distribution or logistics environment. Working knowledge of Continuous Improvement methodologies is highly desirable. Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English; capable of performing basic mathematical calculations and accurately recording data. Bilingual skills are beneficial. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a systematic approach. Proven leadership ability with experience in training, mentoring, and developing team members. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Ability and willingness to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts as needed. Comfortable working in diverse environments, including hot/cold conditions and refrigerated trucks.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:
Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Air Brake endorsement required. Must possess a valid Medical Examiner's Certificate in accordance with FMCSA Part 391.41 prior to operating a commercial motor vehicle for Borden Dairy.
Physical Demands:
Frequent standing, walking, kneeling, reaching, climbing, pulling, and bending with full range of motion. Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 lbs., and occasionally lift/move over 100 lbs.
