Position SummaryUnder the direction of the Logistics Operations Manager, the Hub Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations of a designated transportation hub, including driver performance, delivery scheduling, safety compliance, and fleet readiness. This position ensures all fuel transportation activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with federal, state, and company regulations.

The Hub Manager leads a team of Fuel Transportation Drivers and serves as the primary liaison between Dispatch, Fleet Maintenance, and upper management. This role plays a critical part in achieving operational excellence, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maintaining a strong culture of safety and accountability across all hub operations.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Operations ManagementOversee daily fuel delivery operations for assigned hub, ensuring on-time and accurate deliveriesCoordinate with Dispatch to optimize driver schedules, routes, and load assignments for efficiency and compliance with DOT hours-of-service regulationsMonitor driver logs, fuel tickets, and delivery documentation for accuracy and completenessEnsure effective communication and alignment with Dispatch, Fleet Maintenance, and accounting teamsTrack performance metrics such as delivery timeliness, fuel variance, and downtime to ensure operational goals are metManage hub resources, including trucks, trailers, equipment, and suppliesAbility to work on-call and flexible schedules, including weekends, mornings, evenings, and holidays as neededDriver Supervision & DevelopmentDirectly supervise and support Fuel Transportation Drivers assigned to the hubConduct regular driver meetings to communicate safety updates, policy changes, and performance expectationsMonitor driver behavior, performance, and compliance with safety standards and DOT regulationsCoach, mentor, and evaluate drivers to promote professional growth and adherence to company standardsOversee onboarding, training, and certification processes for new driversCollaborate with the Safety Department to ensure drivers maintain current medical cards, endorsements, and compliance documentationFleet & Maintenance CoordinationPartner with the Fleet Manager and maintenance personnel to ensure vehicles are maintained, serviced, and inspected according to schedulesTrack and report vehicle downtime, maintenance needs, and repair completion statusVerify that pre-trip and post-trip inspections are performed correctly and documentedCoordinate vehicle assignments and ensure compliance with preventive maintenance schedulesSafety & ComplianceEnforce all DOT, EPA, OSHA,FMCSA and company safety regulations and protocolsConduct regular safety meetings, audits, and incident reviews to reinforce a safety-first cultureInvestigate accidents, spills, or incidents and report findings to leadership and safety personnelEnsure that spill response kits, fire extinguishers, and PPE are available and maintainedMaintain and submit accurate compliance and incident records in accordance with regulatory standardsCustomer & Vendor RelationsServe as the primary point of contact for customer issues, delivery inquiries, or service escalations related to the hubCoordinate with terminal operators, suppliers, and vendors to ensure smooth product loading and timely fuel availabilitySupport the accounting team in resolving delivery or billing discrepanciesFoster positive relationships with both internal and external customersAdministrative & ReportingMaintain hub records including driver files, inspection reports, delivery logs, and compliance documentsPrepare daily, weekly, and monthly hub performance reports for Transportation leadershipMonitor and manage hub expenses, including fuel, maintenance, and labor costs, within budgetary parametersParticipate in audits, inspections, and reviews conducted by regulatory agencies or company leadershipEducation and Work ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED required; Associate or Bachelors degree in Business, Logistics, Transportation, or related field preferredMinimum 5+ years of transportation or logistics experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management roleExperience in fuel hauling, bulk transport, or hazardous materials logistics strongly preferredValid Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements preferred but not requiredStrong understanding of DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and EPA regulationsProficiency with logistics and dispatch software (e.g., Motive, PDI, TelePoint, DTN) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word)Skill SetStrong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and guide driversExcellent communication and interpersonal abilitiesAnalytical mindset with the ability to interpret performance data and drive improvementProactive problem-solving and decision-making skills under pressureStrong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracyCommitment to safety, compliance, and operational excellenceAbility to collaborate effectively with multiple departmentsPhysical Demands and Work Environment The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Frequent visits to terminals, maintenance facilities, and customer delivery sites.

Exposure to outdoor elements, including heat, cold, and noise typical of fuel transportation environments.

Must be able to climb ladders, inspect vehicles, and perform safety walkthroughs.

Standard MondayFriday schedule with flexibility for nights, weekends, or emergencies as required
