Position Overview The Lead Landscape Maintenance Crew Leader directs daily operations for both commercial and residential properties. This hands-on supervisory role requires time management while executing weekly tasks and recording work performed. Lead is responsible for coaching team members, maintaining quality and production to ensure customer expectations and maintenance contracts are met. Following safety rules with detail. Personalized customer service, and management of customer special requests.

Key Responsibilities Operations:

Review daily note board, load truck & trailer with supplies and tools for the day. Strategize and lead a crew through weekly operations in order to complete monthly assignments outlined in customer contracts like, mowing, edging, detail weeding, shrub trimming, perennial maintenance, along with customer special requests. Report any issues with lawns, plants, irrigation or damage to property. Record all daily work performed via company-provided I-Pad.

Team Supervision:

Review docs in between stops in order to strategize & coach crew members with detailed instructions to complete assigned tasks within allotted time. Record daily work performed and mandate lunch breaks. Ensure all tools are back on the trailer before leaving stop.

Property Protection:

Ensure the crew respects homeowner privacy, special request and protects commercial assets such as, but not limited to: irrigation heads, hardscapes, houses/buildings and signage. Ensure all property gates are secured before leaving.

Equipment Care:

Safely operate, transport, and maintain trucks, trailers, zero-turn mowers, trimmers, blowers, and hand tools. Complete weekly maintenance sheets and report any issues with equipment in detail on equipment repair docs.

Safety & Compliance:

Enforce OSHA standards, mandate proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and ensure safe work conditions. Report any safety issues immediately to the office.

Customer & Office Relations:

Serve as the primary on site contact for property managers and homeowners. Maintain and manage digital records. Encourage all customers with special requests to contact the office for scheduling and/or an estimate. Report any special customer requests or any issue to the office immediately.

Qualifications Experience:

5+ years of professional landscape maintenance experience, covering both commercial contracts and residential services, with 2+ years in a lead management role.

Horticultural Knowledge:

Possess a strong understanding of regional plant materials, turf management, weed identification, and seasonal pruning techniques.

Driver's License:

Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record, and proof of current vehicle insurance; comfortable towing and backing up landscape trailers is required.

Physical Stamina:

Ability to lift up to 50-75 lbs consistently and work outdoors in all weather conditions for an extended period of time.

Communication:

Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English. Strong interpersonal skills to switch seamlessly between formal corporate communication and friendly homeowner interactions. Ability to follow and execute detailed directions while voicing any concerns or obstacles affecting the objective. Report any misconduct to HR immediately.

Digital Literacy:

Familiarity with email and Google Workspace apps (Docs, Drive, Sheets) is preferable.
