Rental Vans is a growing van rental company based in Franklin, TN, specializing in passenger van rentals. We pride ourselves on maintaining a clean, reliable, and well-serviced fleet that keeps our customers moving. We are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Fleet Supervisor to join our team and help us deliver an outstanding rental experience.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Fleet Supervisor is a core, hands-on member of our operations team. This role is responsible for the day-to-day supervision and coordination of fleet activities — ensuring every van in our inventory is properly checked in/out, maintained, and ready for service. You will be the first line of quality control for our fleet, working directly with vans, tracking maintenance needs, and coordinating with external vendors. This is not a desk job: you will be physically active, working with vans, tools, and equipment on a daily basis.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Fleet Check-In & Check-Out Perform thorough van inspections upon return, documenting condition, mileage, fuel level, and any damage Prepare vans for the next rental — cleaning, restocking supplies, and confirming roadworthiness Complete and maintain accurate check-in/check-out records and condition reports Identify and flag damage, safety concerns, or equipment issues before vans are returned to service Maintenance Coordination & Minor Repairs Perform or assist with minor maintenance tasks: fluid top-offs, tire pressure checks, light bulb replacements, interior repairs, and basic cleaning Track preventive maintenance schedules (oil changes, tire rotations, inspections) across the entire fleet Identify vans in need of repair and escalate appropriately to management Maintain a clean, organized maintenance log and service history for each van Vendor Coordination Schedule and coordinate service appointments with outside repair shops, dealerships, and maintenance providers Transport vans to and from vendors as needed Review and verify vendor invoices; communicate any discrepancies to management Build and maintain positive working relationships with preferred vendors Logistics & Transportation Assist with fleet repositioning — moving vans between locations or to/from customer delivery and pickup points Support logistics for van staging, lot organization, and daily fleet availability planning Assist management with rental scheduling and fleet utilization to minimize downtime Occasionally assist customers with van walkthroughs, pickups, or returns General Operations Support Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the fleet yard and any associated storage/maintenance areas Assist with administrative tasks related to fleet records, titles, registrations, and insurance documents Support management with special projects or operational improvements as needed
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Required Valid U.S. driver's license with a clean driving record — ability to drive full-size passenger and cargo vans Must be comfortable operating large vans in a variety of conditions (highways, urban areas, tight lots) Basic mechanical aptitude — ability to perform minor maintenance tasks and identify common van issues Strong attention to detail, particularly when documenting van condition and maintenance history Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision Good communication skills — able to coordinate effectively with vendors, customers, and teammates Physical ability to perform the role: standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs regularly Must be at least 21 years old Preferred (Not Required) Prior experience in fleet management, rental car operations, automotive service, or related transportation roles Familiarity with fleet management software or rental management systems Experience coordinating with third-party vendors or service providers

Schedule:
Seasonal role running May through September, with potential to extend based on business needs Weekend availability is required for this position Specifics to be discussed during the interview process
