POSITION SUMMARY

As the Shop Assistant at Ironback Controls LTD, this role is responsible for overseeing all shop, yard, and support operations. Duties include ensuring fleet readiness, asset tracking, logistics coordination, facility upkeep, and supporting safety programs. This position ensures that equipment, vehicles, tools, and facilities are properly maintained, tracked, and prepared to support field operations at all times.

DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure all trucks are equipped with required equipment and tools Conduct truck inspections to verify readiness, safety, and compliance Confirm each truck has a valid fuel card Refuel trucks before they leave the yard Stage trucks the night before for next-day pickup when scheduled Monitor oil changes and schedule maintenance as needed Wash trucks as required Track all tools, vehicles, and equipment using Excel-based logs, including assignments and availability Reference current schedules to assign vehicles and ensure readiness for field use Add new tools and vehicles into tracking logs as needed Ensure all asset certifications are current and properly documented Set reminders and track upcoming calibrations Inspect calibration equipment for necessary fittings and parts Repair and maintain calibration equipment as needed Monitor driving activity and compliance using Verizon Reveal Assist with driver safety by reviewing driving habits and coaching drivers as needed Set up new employees in Verizon Reveal for vehicle tracking and compliance Monitor and track vehicle inspections through the Verizon system Perform housing maintenance including interior and exterior upkeep, lawn care at Pioneer house, mail collection and distribution, and periodic inspections Order and maintain inventory for shop, office, and company housing Handle field and shop errands, including transporting equipment for repair or replacement and delivering equipment to field personnel Support company events by assisting with cooking and serving food from the BBQ trailer Perform general repairs and maintenance around the shop and office Maintain cleanliness and organization of shop and office areas including sweeping, trash removal, and stocking common areas
