Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and experienced Tree Climber / Crew Leader to join our growing tree removal team immediately. In this vital role, you will lead a crew in performing tree care, pruning, removal, and maintenance projects while ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality standards are met. Your expertise will help transform outdoor spaces, providing clients with healthy, beautiful trees and landscapes. Responsibilities Lead and supervise a team of arborists and landscape workers during tree climbing, pruning, removal, and hardscaping projects. Perform skilled tree care tasks including climbing, rigging, pruning, cabling, bracing, and removals with precision and safety. Manage project timelines, assign tasks effectively, and ensure crew members operate grounds maintenance equipment safely and efficiently. Oversee the use of company vehicles and ensure all operations comply with safety protocols and environmental standards. Coordinate with clients to understand project scope and communicate progress clearly throughout each job. Maintain detailed records of work performed, equipment used, and safety inspections. Support other landscaping activities such as lawn care, landscape maintenance, irrigation management, hardscaping construction projects, groundskeeping, gardening, and general grounds maintenance as needed. Experience Proven experience in tree care or arboriculture with strong climbing skills; certification from recognized arborist organizations is a plus. Supervising or crew management experience in outdoor or landscaping environments. Knowledge of plant identification, horticulture principles, and landscape maintenance best practices. Hands-on experience operating grounds maintenance equipment including chainsaws, pruning tools, trucks/vehicles for company operations. Familiarity with hardscape construction projects such as retaining walls or patios is advantageous. Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to motivate a team while maintaining high safety standards. Outdoor work experience in various weather conditions; physical stamina for demanding physical tasks is essential.
