Job Overview We are seeking an energetic and motivated Trench Crew Leader specializing in underground mini excavator operations to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will lead a crew responsible for trenching, excavation, and utility installation projects, ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality on every job site. Your expertise in heavy equipment operation and construction utility work will drive project success while maintaining strict adherence to safety regulations and industry standards. Duties Lead and supervise a trench crew in the operation of underground mini excavators and related construction machinery Plan and execute excavation and trenching activities according to project specifications and safety protocols Coordinate with project managers, utility locators, and other trades to ensure precise utility locating and accurate excavation work Maintain equipment safety procedures, perform routine machinery maintenance, and troubleshoot mechanical issues promptly Ensure compliance with federal construction safety regulations and site-specific safety regulations at all times Oversee construction grading, backhoe operation, loader operation, and other heavy equipment tasks as needed Monitor work progress, enforce safety standards, and provide training to team members on equipment operation and safety procedures Requirements Proven experience operating excavators, loaders, backhoes, and other heavy construction machinery in utility or excavation projects Strong knowledge of construction utility work, excavation techniques, and construction site safety regulations Valid commercial driver's license with experience in commercial truck driving preferred Mechanical knowledge for equipment maintenance and troubleshooting minor repairs Familiarity with federal construction safety regulations and equipment safety procedures Ability to lead a team effectively while maintaining high standards of safety and productivity Construction experience with underground utilities or utility installation projects highly desirable Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members, project managers, and utility locators Knowledge of Caterpillar equipment or similar brands is a plus Join us to lead impactful projects that shape communities! Pay:
