Job Title :
Logistics Dispatcher FLSA Status:
Exempt Job Purpose The Logistics Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating daily transportation operations to ensure timely and efficient deliveries to stores and distribution centers. This role communicates with drivers, monitors shipments, resolves transportation issues, and works closely with warehouse and transportation teams to maintain smooth operations in a fast-paced, 24/7 distribution environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Coordinate daily dispatch activities for inbound and outbound shipments. Assign loads and routes to drivers based on operational needs. Monitor deliveries to ensure they are completed safely and on schedule. Maintain communication with drivers regarding route changes, delays, and delivery updates. Track shipments using transportation management systems (TMS) and GPS technology. Respond to transportation issues and resolve delivery delays or service disruptions. Communicate with warehouse personnel, transportation teams, and store locations regarding shipment status. Ensure all dispatch records, logs, and transportation documents are accurate and complete. Monitor driver schedules, hours of service, and regulatory compliance. Prepare daily reports and maintain dispatch records. Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and customer service. Follow all company safety policies and procedures. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred. Previous experience in dispatch, transportation, logistics, or warehouse operations preferred. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, and Word). Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), SAP, or similar software is a plus. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods. Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Ability to work in a warehouse and office environment. Work Environment Fast-paced food distribution warehouse operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week . Must be flexible to work weekends, holidays, overtime, and varying shifts based on business needs. May require occasional work in refrigerated warehouse areas.
