BASIC PURPOSE
To assist in the organizing and directing of warehouse workers in assigned area to provide exceptional customer service to all Stock Yards customers through on time trucks, and overall organization on product flow from shipping & receiving and cooler maintenance. Comply with all food safety, regulatory and quality programs within the assigned area of responsibility. Assist in other departments as decided by managers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides backup assistant manager support, to include: 1. Develop and maintain an appropriate level of understanding of warehouse and operations. Ensure that all work is performed with a consistent sense of urgency to meet customer requirements and in compliance with defined quality system in the assigned area. 2. Monitor the warehouse workforce to ensure work direction as required and to maximize warehouse efficiencies. 3. Provide training support (as directed by the production supervisor) to all production staff. 4. Seek better operating methods to increase productivity and lower operating costs. 5. Maintain a clean and orderly cut shop and practice all safety procedures. 6. Portray the company in a good image at all times. 7. Develop and maintain an appropriate level of understanding of production operations. 8. Work in harmony with fellow Associates and visitors to achieve an optimum level of production on a consistent basis. 9. Complete work forms and miscellaneous paperwork accurately and properly that is related to the movement of product and job standards, including signing all documents. 10. Ensure that work area is kept clean, organized and safe. 11. Participate in periodic staff meetings and other meetings as necessary. 12. Participate in and satisfactorily complete all training and development programs as required of the position. Perform a variety of miscellaneous tasks within the scope of assigned Essential Responsibilities as may be required from time-to-time by management representatives.

This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does provide work direction for other nonexempt positions.

QUALIFICATIONS
High school graduate or GED preferred; basic English reading , writing and math skills. Work continually in a refrigerated environment 35°F
  • 45°F.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a food manufacturing environment. .
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Certified to operate forklift and other warehouse operations power equipment as defined by OSHA rules and regulations

Frequently Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law. The expected base rate for this role is between $28.00 and $29.00 hr. As applicable, This role is also eligible for overtime compensation.
