Full Job Description SUMMARY:
As the Seasonal Warehouse Supervisor / Assistant Manager , you will assist in overseeing daily warehouse operations during the seasonal period, ensuring the safe, accurate, and efficient receipt, storage, organization, and shipment of tires and other automotive parts. This position will provide hands-on supervision and support to warehouse employees, help maintain inventory accuracy, and assist management in meeting daily operational and customer service goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
May include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Assist with the daily supervision and coordination of warehouse activities, including receiving, storing, organizing, picking, loading, and shipping tires and other automotive parts. Directly supervise and support warehouse employees, helpers, laborers, and material movers to ensure work is completed safely, accurately, and efficiently. Assist with maintaining accurate inventory levels and organized storage areas. Monitor receiving and shipping activities to ensure products are handled properly and orders are completed accurately and on time. Help prioritize daily workload and assign tasks to warehouse employees based on business needs and shipment schedules. Communicate work assignments, priorities, and expectations clearly to warehouse employees. Review work throughout the process and upon completion to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with company procedures. Assist with loading and unloading deliveries and ensure products are properly handled and secured. Identify inventory discrepancies, damaged products, or operational issues and report them to management. Assist with cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory reconciliation as needed. Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment. Monitor employees for compliance with company safety policies and procedures. Conduct or assist with staff meetings and safety discussions to communicate important information and expectations. Assist with training and onboarding seasonal warehouse employees, including proper warehouse procedures, equipment use, and safety practices. Provide coaching and direction to employees regarding attendance, work performance, safety, and workplace conduct. Communicate employee concerns, performance issues, or workplace problems to management or Human Resources as appropriate. Assist management with resolving employee and operational issues in a timely and professional manner. Inspect warehouse equipment and work areas for safety concerns, damage, or excessive wear and report issues as needed. Assist with maintaining daily warehouse records, employee time records, shipping and receiving documentation, and other operational reports. Work closely with warehouse management, drivers, sales staff, vendors, and other departments to support efficient operations. Assist with coordinating vendors and service providers when needed for warehouse equipment or facility maintenance. Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable safety, health, and environmental requirements. Help maintain productivity and service levels during periods of increased seasonal demand. Perform warehouse duties as needed and lead by example, including assisting with material movement, order fulfillment, loading, unloading, and other physical warehouse activities. Qualifications Previous warehouse, distribution, shipping, receiving, or inventory experience required. 3+ years of previous supervisory or lead experience preferred. Strong attendance, dependability, and attention to detail. Ability to lead and communicate effectively with team members and management. Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Basic computer skills and ability to learn warehouse and inventory systems. Ability to follow and enforce company safety and operating procedures. Ability to train and provide direction to warehouse employees. Positive, professional, and team-oriented attitude. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed. Automotive, tire, or distribution experience preferred. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the shift Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and lift throughout the workday Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation Ability to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures, noise, dust, and movement of equipment Ability to safely use warehouse equipment and tools consistent with training and company policy Work Environment Warehouse environment with regular movement, material handling, shipping activity, and equipment traffic May require early morning, evening, weekend, or holiday availability depending on business needs Reasonable Accommodation Statement The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
