OVERVIEW

This position will coordinate partnership between the hospital's laundry & linen program on-site at the healthcare facility to ensure an adequate supply of clean linen for all user areas while professionally interacting with hospital personnel, management and account manager as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assisting with housekeeping and general cleanliness of the linen room and associated work areas.
• General and spot inspection as required of laundered articles to assure compliance with Title 22 regulations as well as State and Federal statutes.
• Contacting departments in the hospital to obtain feedback and information regarding linen services.
• Maintaining records for department attendance, production efficiencies and linen tracking, etc.
• Participation in the central linen standardization committee as necessary.
• Provide services as needed for departments with special requirements.
• Reporting of overuse, abuse or misuse of linen, to include recommended actions, to management and hospital contacts as necessary.
• Fill-in for distribution personnel as necessary due to absenteeism, vacation, sickness, etc. and to meet facility needs.
• Weekly review of Linen Helpe data.
• Other duties & projects assigned by management.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES REQUIRED

• Familiar with Emerald Textiles product lines
• Valid driver's license (Class C) and clean driving record.
• Excellent customer service skills
• Excellent record keeping and attention to detail
• Strong written, verbal, organizational and interpersonal skills
• Ability to communicate proficiently in English and Spanish
• Ability to work well with superiors, co-workers and Employees in an office environment

Regular Work Hours:

Normally, Monday - Friday. Weekends and nights occasionally, as needed.

Physical Requirements:

The position requires constant standing, bending, stooping, walking and the ability to lift and handle material with weight up to 50 pounds, and possibly including the handling of sealed bags of soiled linen and servicing scrub vending machines. Constant pushing/pulling of laundry carts with weights of 250 lbs is common with some cart weights exceeding 600 lbs.

Work Environment:

- This job takes place within the Linen Room and throughout the hospital. The working environment is indoors and is seasonally heated and cooled with minimal noise levels. The position requires the ability to communicate in person, telephonically and via email.
