Minimum 1 year of Supervisory Warehouse experience The Working Lead represents a very important link in the chain and serves as a "conduit" from supervision/management to employees passing on such company information, instructions, and announcements as deemed necessary for the smooth running of the Shipping and Receiving team. The Working Lead assigns and directs workloads of warehouse personnel under supervision of Plant Management. Working Lead -Shipping & Receiving Responsibilities:
Oversee Loading Ensure all product is loaded SAFELY andCORRECTLY.
Review scheduled loads, assign labor appropriately, and predict any issues that will arise throughout the day. Be hands on assisting loading crews. Fill in gaps, work directly with the crews to ensure efficient, correct loading. Double-check the crews for mistakes on the load, safety violations, quality of work, etc. Prioritize cross-training warehouse staff. Work with the Shipping Supervisor, APM, and PM to find ways to help employees understand new positions. Supervisor, APM, and PM will help to set a training schedule. Ensure new employees are given direct training from you. Work with them on the forklift, crane, organizing loads, picking material, etc. Prepare for start of shift, and set appropriate pace. Be the first one in. Gather loading lists and form a plan for the shift. Be energetic and greet employees as they come in. This helps set the tone for the workday. Be prepared by knowing the loads in and out. Know what to tell employees to look for. Anticipate their questions and help them identify issues before they arise. Be a consistent, supportive presence in the warehouse. Spend as much time as possible in the warehouse, and away from the office. Work with the loading crews. Gather their feedback. Identify solutions. Be a leader. Provide support and assistance for the shipping and receiving crews. This may include doing the physical work needed, and it may include helping to train employees to be more efficient. Working Lead -Shipping & Receiving Requirements:
Minimum 1 year of Supervisory/Lead Warehouse experience is required. Combilift experience is preferred. OSHA Certification is preferred. Willingness to submit to a background check and/or drug test.
