Job Summary:
Supervises Warehouse shipping and receiving activities and associates for a specific shift/area to ensure functions are performed within Company and Distribution Center guidelines. Provides excellent customer service to stores serviced through accurate handling of inbound and outbound product. Duties/Responsibilities o Schedules and supervises of shipping/receiving associates. o Controls production standards, accuracy of shipments and receiving, using proper accuracy programs and systems. o Maintains daily production and accuracy records. o Processes store returns and return to vendors using proper Company policies. o Coordinates with Inventory Control associates regarding slotting, product rotation and space allocation. o Conducts daily crew meeting to discuss safety, productivity and accuracy. o Communicates with Transportation on the flow and receipt of backhauls. o Supervises scheduling of inbound load appointments. o Responsible to sign for, sort and distribute inbound, overnight carrier and mail service deliveries. o Walks warehouse daily, with Superintendent, to ensure that safety, security, sanitation and pest control codes, laws, and policies are maintained. o Ensures the most economical and efficient use of equipment and personnel to accomplish assigned work. o Develops and maintains good working relationship with all departments.Required Skills/Abilities:
o Possess strong general knowledge of all warehousing operations, with prior work experience to include lead person or supervisory duties, preferably with the Company. o Possess good supervisory skills and the ability to work with and through others to achieve desired results. o Possess good communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to read and interpret computerized reports. o Requires the analytical ability to handle administrative duties and mental alertness to ensure accurate, safe, and thorough completion of work activities. Possess the ability to concentrate and deal with frequent interruptions. o Basic computer skills required, and personal computer experience helpful, with word processing and spreadsheet applications.Education and Experience:
o High school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred. o Proven experience in a supervisory role within a warehouse environment. o Knowledge of warehouse safety regulations and experience in implementing safety protocols. o Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and proficiency in using relevant software applications. o Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Outlook). o Ability to operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts or pallet jacks, and obtain necessary certifications if required. o Excellent written and verbal communication skills. o Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by operational needs. o Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. o Valid driver's license and clean driving record if driving is required for the role.Physical Requirements:
o During part of the workday the incumbent will be moving about the Distribution Center warehouse floor and potential hazards exist regarding machinery such as forklifts, pallet jacks, mechanized systems, movement of tractors and trailers, etc. o Temperatures in the warehouse may vary between -20 to 70 degrees. Noise levels in all areas are within acceptable tolerance ranges for those specific work areas. o Incumbents will use calculators, keyboards, telephone, and other office equipment in the course of the workday.Job Type:
