Warehouse Returns Lead - Mattresses and Bedding Position Summary We are seeking a dependable, hands-on Warehouse Returns Lead to oversee the processing, inspection, and disposition of returned mattresses, bedding, and related products. This position leads daily returns operations, supports warehouse associates, maintains accurate inventory records, and ensures products are handled safely and efficiently. Schedule Monday through Friday 5:00 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Regular and punctual attendance is required. Key Responsibilities Lead daily warehouse returns activities and assign work to team members. Receive, unload, inspect, and document returned mattresses, bedding, and related products. Determine whether returned products should be restocked, refurbished, donated, recycled, or disposed of according to company procedures. Verify return paperwork, product condition, quantities, and inventory information. Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely. Maintain accurate inventory and return records using warehouse systems and paperwork. Ensure returned products are properly labeled, wrapped, stored, and staged. Monitor productivity, accuracy, housekeeping, and safety standards. Train and coach warehouse associates on returns procedures and safe product handling. Investigate discrepancies and communicate issues to warehouse management. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and applicable sanitation requirements. Assist with loading, unloading, inventory counts, and other warehouse duties as needed. Qualifications Previous warehouse, returns, receiving, inventory, or distribution experience required. Prior lead or supervisory experience preferred. Experience handling mattresses, furniture, bedding, or other bulky products is a plus. Ability to obtain and maintain company-required forklift certification. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to lead a team while also performing hands-on warehouse work. Basic computer and inventory-system skills. Ability to read product labels, complete paperwork, and maintain accurate records. Reliable transportation and the ability to consistently work the Tuesday-Saturday schedule. Physical Requirements Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull mattresses, bedding products, and other bulky merchandise. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds independently and heavier items with team assistance or material-handling equipment. Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive movements throughout the shift. Ability to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures and noise levels. Pre-Employment Requirements Employment is contingent upon successfully completing a pre-employment drug screening, which includes testing for marijuana/cannabis, to the extent permitted by applicable law. The selected candidate must also be able to qualify for and maintain forklift certification.
