Job Description
Position Overview:
Are you a high-energy, organized individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment? Do you take pride in ensuring that every shipment is accurately prepared and delivered on time? If so, we want you to join our team as a Shipping Coordinator! In this role, you'll focus on managing the shipping process, ensuring all outgoing items are securely packaged, documented accurately, and shipped efficiently. You'll play a key role in preparing shipping documentation, monitoring shipments, and resolving issues to maintain a seamless shipping process. While shipping will be your primary focus, you may occasionally assist with receiving tasks, ensuring a well-rounded role in our logistics team. Position Qualifications:
Lift Power:
Able to lift up to 60 pounds.
Experience:
At least 1+ years in shipping (receiving experience is a bonus but not required).
Tech Savvy:
Strong computer skills and familiarity with ERP systems.
Organized:
Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple tasks.
Problem Solver:
Creative thinker with a knack for resolving challenges, especially in international logistics.
Self-Starter:
Motivated and able to work independently. Certifications a
Plus:
Forklift Credential, and/or DOT and IATA Hazmat Certification is a bonus.
Physical Stamina:
Ready to work with inks and handle occasional loud noises.
Primary Duties:
•
End-of-Day Goal:
Ensure all orders are accurately picked, packaged, and shipped by the close of business each day to meet customer deadlines.
•
Order Picking Accuracy:
Pick and verify orders efficiently and accurately, using established auditing systems to ensure quality and correctness.
•
International Logistics:
Address customs requirements, coordinate with carriers, and resolve unique logistical challenges through creative problem-solving.
•
Documentation:
Prepare and verify shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading (BOLs), Shipper's Letters of Instruction (SLIs), and Dangerous Goods Declarations (DGDs).
•
Compliance Review:
Review commercial invoices and ensure all shipments meet regulatory requirements.
•
Parcel Shipments:
Leverage UPS and FedEx software for the majority of shipments, with occasional use of DHL or customer-arranged methods.
•
LTL Shipments:
Handle LTL (Less Than Truckload) shipments, ensuring timely scheduling and cost-effective rates.
•
Shipment Monitoring:
Track shipments, resolve issues as they arise, and escalate unresolved matters to Inside Sales when necessary.
•
Process Improvement:
Continuously assess shipping processes to identify inefficiencies
•
Carrier Contact:
Coordinate with carriers for pickups, schedules, and international shipment paperwork.
•
Rate Finder:
Source shipments to find the best rates for domestic and international orders.
•
ERP Guru:
Accurately document and track outgoing shipments using the corporate ERP system.
•
Packaging Pro:
Securely and efficiently package items for shipment, ensuring accuracy and care.
•
Consumables:
Ensure all tools and materials (pallets, boxes, consumables) are readily available and place consumable orders with purchasing as needed to maintain stock levels.
•
Safety:
Maintain an organized and clean work area while following all safety rules.
•
Cross-trained:
Occasionally support Receiving operations when the designated Receiving Coordinator is unavailable.

Additional Information:
Training and Development:
Our training programs emphasize hands-on learning, allowing new hires to build confidence and mastery in shipping operations, including advanced logistics practices.
Team Dynamics:
Join a small, dynamic Shipping team of 2 that reports to the Operations and Logistics Lead. You'll work closely with the Production Manager and Inside Sales, so teamwork is key.
Success Measurement:
Success means getting all orders out each day as accurately and efficiently as possible. Maintain a clean workspace at the end of each day, minimize shipping errors, and continuously improve picking and packaging accuracy while reducing shipping discrepancies.
Working Hours and Overtime:
Enjoy typical hours of 8 AM - 5 PM with an hour for lunch and two 15-minute breaks. We offer flexibility, and overtime is available as required.
Team Interaction:
Daily interactions with Production and Inside Sales, and less frequent interactions with other teams.
Job Type:

$20.00 - $22.00 per hour
