Shipping & Receiving Supervisor Reports To:
Plant Manager Position Summary RSF is seeking an experienced Shipping & Receiving Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our fast-paced shipping department. This individual is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and accurate outbound shipments while maintaining the highest quality standards for our customers. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in a demanding industrial environment and leads by example. Key Responsibilities Supervise daily activities of shipping personnel and forklift operators. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping department. Inspect high-value loads before and during loading to ensure customer specifications are met. Inspect baled commodities for quality, contamination, and bale integrity. Efficiently utilize labor and equipment to maximize productivity. Coordinate trailer loading and unloading activities. Train and coach forklift operators on safe operating practices. Communicate shipping priorities and quality concerns with plant management. Assist with inventory accuracy, bale organization, and yard management. Identify opportunities to improve safety and workflow. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Qualifications Required:
High school diploma or GED. Valid driver's license. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work in a physically demanding, fast-paced environment.
Preferred:
Experience in the recycling industry. Experience operating horizontal balers. Experience operating sit-down forklifts. Previous supervisory experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse, or production. Knowledge of recyclable commodities and customer quality specifications.
