Job Description
Summary HCI is a specialty pharmaceutical wholesale distributor providing white glove treatment to our customers on all interactions. We partner with physicians, medical offices, hospitals, pharmacies, specialty pharmacies, home health care companies and manufacturers. We are looking for a motivated and experienced Distribution Lead with a strong logistics background to help guide daily operations for our distribution center. This is a working lead role where you will actively participate in warehouse tasks while providing daily direction to a team of distribution associates. The ideal candidate combines hands-on operational skills with informal leadership ability and a solid understanding of logistics processes. Duties & Responsibilities Assign daily tasks and prioritize workloads to ensure shift goals are met Review daily metrics, including productivity, takt time, and order accuracy, and communicate performance to the Director Provide direction and on-the-job guidance to warehouse associates to meet safety, quality, and productivity standards Review and document inbound shipments for accuracy and appropriate product storage requirements Stock inventory in a FIFO manner in appropriate storage areas Maintain all inbound shipment documents as required by law Perform inventory counts and report any discrepancies Review sales orders for accuracy Pick and/or pack products for shipment following internal guidelines and packaging specifications Create carrier documentation, record shipment data, and maintain shipping records, files & reports Serve as a point of contact between floor associates and the Director, escalating issues as needed Support the onboarding and training of new warehouse associates Promote and enforce adherence to company safety standards and OSHA regulations Maintain warehouse in a clean and organized manner Assist with other duties as assigned, including document shredding and replenishing office supplies and common-area supplies On-call availability during non-regular business hours (evenings, early mornings, weekends, and holidays) may be required Overtime may be required Minimum Requirements Three or more years of experience in warehouse distribution One or more years in a lead or informal leadership capacity Available to handle after-hour emergencies including weekends as needed (minimum once a month) Working knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems as it relates to daily activities Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook Preferred Requirements Quality focused with an emphasis on attention to detail Florida-OSHA Compliant Forklift Operator Certification Bilingual (English & Spanish) Strong communicator, comfortable coaching and directing peers Must be well organized Self-motivated with a positive attitude Working Conditions Must be able to carry up to 50 lbs., lift to 80 lbs. Must be able to push/pull > 100 lbs. (with the assistance of material handling equipment) Must be able to stand for extended periods of time over an entire 8- or 12-hour shift Will require bending, twisting, reaching overhead, and/or squatting motions to perform certain tasks Will require using a ladder Will require operating material handling equipment (machine and manual) Must be able to work in a controlled temperature environment Why work at HCI?
